I applied for a double deal online on - 2 Xiomi phones, for R199 pm. Got an email, reference RE: A2-TCEM-HZLYK, requesting my id, payslips etc. I submitted them. Then I got a mail back to say they had no record of my application! And I must reapply! And of course the answer when I tried to do the application again, was ""offer expired". I contacted Vodacom via Messenger, they authenticated me in 100 ways, said someone from Vodacom would phone me. Needless to say, I'm still waiting......
We paid for an expensive service on our two six month old units, they had been barely used, and the service was over R1 000. When it came time to put on the one we only use in winter, it would not warm up. My client and I could not figure out the settings. I sent the business an email, asking about the problem, and also why the inverter did not kick in. They answered my mail by saying they would send a technician out. As they did not mention a call out fee, I thought this would just be follow up to their service. They made an appointment, I made arrangements to be in that day, but they did not pitch. I contacted them again, and they said they would make another appointment. I asked them to let me know so I was sure I would be home. However, the technician just arrived, as I was going out. He was in and out in about 2 minutes, apparently they had changed the settings on our remote during the service. They did not even look at the inverter, nor say anything about it. I then received a R500 call out fee! None of this was explained to me, if they had just answered my mail, the whole call out would not have been necessary. There was some snotty remark about reading the manuals, besides my eyesight which prevents this, the very least they could do was say they had changed the settings, or put it back to how they were or at least say! We are going to be putting in some more aircons with a more customer orientated firm. They would not waive or reduce the call out fee, hence this review.
Their handling of a warrenty item is appallingly mindboggling! Especially as we had Covid in the house. So used to a decent business doing a replacement, no questions asked , in the guarantee period. Suffice to say, if it was not for Komotso at Keywest, I would never set foot in a Pick n Pay again, and am glad I shifted all my day to day shopping to Checkers some time ago, and now only buy at this retailer if they have great specials on. I wonder, if my oven I bought from them gives hassles, are they also going to insist it goes back to the suppliers, are they going to come take it out where it has been built in, and leave me without an oven for more than a month like I'm still awaiting my almost brand new, rarely used Aim microwave??????
What a shocking experience we have had with this company in the Garden Route! After excellent reception since the installation, in about September 2020, the wifi started becoming very erratic. We upgraded from the 6 meg line to 10 meg, thinking this would sort the problems out. However, they continued, so much so, that our tenant, who at one stage was the only person using the wifi when we were away for 4 months, and who was teaching English online, was fired for unstable wifi. Yet the previous tenant, who did the same thing, quite happily worked on the 6 meg line with us, our visitors and our volunteers who worked here! We were given every excuse in the book as to why the usage was so high, some totally irrational. One night it was an absolutely basic Oppo, not being used, apparently using all our bandwidth, the next another cellphone, with not one application open. Then they started telling us our speedtests were not accurate - the speedtest they recommended we use! We downgraded back to 6 megs, since 10 hadn't stopped the problems. The more we explained to them we had better wifi with more users and usage on a 6 meg line prior to September, the more they insisted we needed to upgrade our package again! Then to top it all, recently 2 unknown cellphones were drawing all our bandwidth, we even checked around our property to make sure there was no one nearby who had hacked into our system, we asked them to open a ticket as to how this was possible twice, we have yet to hear from them about this. We were told we were uploading too much, on our 1 meg upload, but when our wifi dipped down to 2, there was still .85 upload left according to our speedtest, but we were told we were overloading the upload, that's why the download dipped. Last night, we zoomed from offline up to our 6 megs a dozen times, with no change in our users or usage, screenshots with times were sent, we were simply ignored again. They had started just ignoring us when we messaged them with an issue quite often and the final straw was an ugly message from them today, saying they were quite happy to suspend our service, due to our complaints, when we asked where their offices were so we could go see them! Unbelievable - that's the type of message the customer should send to the service provider! We have asked for our installation fees and monthly fees from when the issues started to be refunded, otherwise we will have to go to the Small Claims Court, and the other name and shame forums available to the consumer. Beware - Acorn is great - unless you have problems with their service!
Really disappointed - applied for a phone contract for my domestic helper (available online only), an Oppo A15, at R125 pm, with R125 airtime and a free bluetooth speaker. Received an email saying it was approved. Heard nothing further, so when we came onto town and had reception, I called the number on the email, only to find my application was declined! Further phone calls, found out it was a system error, but now I can't get the same deal anymore, even though it's only a few days later! Very poor show Vodacom, especially when you phoned me and got my voice message to say we had no cell reception ( due to Vodacom neglecting our complaint of March 2020 when we informed them our booster was faulty). Upset, cross, and very much in 2 minds whether to renew my other 4 contracts we have with Vodacom, not renewing our R1 000 contract until we have finality on this complaint!
While I'm still awaiting responses from companies in Plettenberg Bay from two days ago, Ricardo answered my message, measured and installed the broken glass in our door after hours on the same day! Very impressed with the quick response and good service.
I'm sitting in a hot car, with my dogs, meant to be on our way home, 1200kms away before the lockdown, waiting for my husband, who has to take the vehicle we bought from this business, to American SUV in Centurion. The engine light came on during the first trip after collecting the car, we were told the vehicle had to have a service to qualify for the warrenty we purchased, yet American SUV says they only did an oil change, and did not service the car. The dealership is not interested in this, or any of our other issues. It took them more than a week (after a reminder), to pay us the balance of our trade in. We are thinking of returning the vehicle, and buying one through another dealership, very disappointed at the moment!
If it was possible to give no stars, I would. Vodacom has been unable to allocate a payment made to an incorrect reference number since 9 FEBRUARY! Then, to make the incompetence worse, they SUSPEND our service! No amount of sending the proof of payment to their pop email, various customer service representatives, accounts department and social.media email addresses has made an iota of difference - everytime you get someone on the phone, they ask for the same thing again, or if you write to them, you have to give all your details and the query over and over and over again! Every time they say they have received the pop, and the suspension will be lifted and nothing happens! We eventually paid another almost 4k in today - I had an emergency with a highly venemous snake in the house, and could not phone for help!!! Will Vodacom wake up eventually if someone dies because they can't get help in an emergency????
I joined the LTSA page a year or so ago. Recently, I read a thread about deposits for rental houses, and the discussion turned to where the deposit should be placed. One of the advisers said he would insist on the deposit being paid into Capitec Bank. I commented that as far as I was aware, this is not a legal requirement, the legislation just states that it should be paid into an interest bearing account. Well, this seemed to unhinge this "man", and he unleashed a torrent of abuse on me, being insulting and derogatory. I gather he lost his temper partly because I did not respond immediately, but some of us have a life, and don't spend it on Facebook. I was actually shocked at such appalling behaviour, and only managed to respond the next day, after I had recovered from his aggressive personal attack. I said I was not his wife, nor his child nor his dog, to speak to me like that, and that his aggressive attack was unprovoked, and uncalled for, and in fact it turns out it WAS his personal opinion and not law at all. The forum supposedly emphasised leaving one's personal opinions out of comments. I said I viewed his remarks as a form of online cyber bullying. However, I saw that not only had he removed his offensive remark, he had blocked me too! The typical hallmark of a cowardly bully, instead of apologising for his outburst - run as soon as you are confronted and your behaviour called out. I decided just to leave it, until I tried to sign back into the forum the other day. To my surprise I am no longer a member! What does this signify - that the admins of this forum have got something to hide, siding with, aiding and abetting an intolerant bully? Are they condoning and complicit in his unacceptable and disrespectful behaviour? Are they protecting and endorsing it? What greater acknowledgement of this advisers guilt can there be? What it does tell me, is that they have behaved unehtically, and it wont be left here. The Law Society should be able to say whether this person or any of the admins are practising attorneys - I cannot abide bullying especially when it is tolerated by others.
