Absolutely shocking service - ordered and paid for a couch and told delivery could take up to 25 working days. Numerous phone calls later (made by me as furniture spot salespeople don't call back as promised) only to be told that there is a delay as they did not receive enough fabric to complete the couch - this was told to me twice! Surely if you are in the business of manufacturing furniture, you should know how much fabric is required to cover the couches manufactured by you! I am on the point of demanding a refund and cancelling my order - will most definitely not recommend or purchase from Furniturespot. Unprofessional, unhelpful and as far as I can see, very dishonest!
We experienced serious flooding at our home due to heavy rains which occurred on 5 March 2025. House was flooded, boundary walls washed away, swimming pool and pump immersed in water. It was indeed an extremely traumatic experience After suffering serious loss of building and household, our claim with Discovery was handled swiftly and given the prompt attention we believe it deserved. We were adequately compensated for our loss and our claims handler, Tshepo was kind and helpful throughout our traumatic ordeal. Words cannot describe our gratitude to Discovery Insure and their highly trained staff enough. After a really bad experiences with another insurer, who promised the world and gave nothing in return and who treated each and every claim with suspicion, lengthy delays in processing claims, - we are ever grateful that after careful consideration, we made the decision to insure with Discovery - thank you Discovery Insure!
THIS HAS TO BE THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY EVER! WE REPORTED AND ACCIDENT ( A MOTOR VEHICLE DROVE INTO THE BACK OF OUR CAR WHILST WE WERE STANDING STATIONARY AT A RED ROBOT ON 1 NOVEMBER 2022) WE WERE TREATED LIKED CRIMINALS WHEN WE LODGED OUR CLAIM! ASKED THE MOST RIDUCULOUS QUESTIONS. DAMAGE WAS ASSESSED AFTER WE SUBMITTED PHOTOGRAPHS - WE HEARD NOTHING MORE FROM IWYZE. WE PHONED ON A DAILY BASIS AS WE RECEIVED ABSOLUTELY NO COMMUNICATION FROM THEM! WE EVENTUALLY SPOKE TO SOMEONE THREE WEEKS AFTER THE ACCIDENT AND WERE TOLD OUR CLAIM HAD BEEN APPROVED - NOTHING FURTHER FROM THEM. WE FOLLOWED -UP AS IT WAS MORE THAN A MONTH AFTER THE ACCIDENT AND WE WERE FINALLY CONTACTED BY THE PANEL BEATERS WHO ADVISED THAT IWYZE HAD "forgotten" TO ADVISE THEM THE CLAIM WAS APPROVED. IN VIEW OF THE FACT THAT IT WAS ALMOST MID DECEMBER - WE COULD ONLY BRING OUR VEHICLE IN ON 3 JANUARY! OUR CAR WAS ALMOST FALLING APART BY THEN! WHEEN WE COMPLAINED, THEY OFFERED US 17,500.00 MINUS OUR EXCESS OF 3,850.00 HOWEVER, IT WAS APPARENT TO US THAT THE ASSESSED DAMAGE WAS VERY MUCH MORE THAN 17,500.00. THANK HEAVENS WE NEVER TOOK IT AS THE FINAL DAMAGE AMOUNTED TO 42,000.00 RENEW-IT IN RANDBURG WAS AMAZING. ON 9 DECEMBER WE EXPERIENCED A TERRIBLE FLOOD AT OUR HOME - THIS AGAIN WAS A DISASTER - ALL OUR BOUNDARY WALLS WERE WASHED DOWN WHICH LEFT OUR PROPERTY OPEN TO THE STREET AND OUR SAFETY SEVERELY COMPROMISED. AGAIN WEEKS WENT BY WITHOUT ANY WORD FROM IWYZE AFTER THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE FACT THAT OUR SAFETY WAS COMPROMISED! EVENTUALLY THEY GOT BACK TO US AND TRIED TO REPUDIATE OUR CLAIM ON THE GROUNDS THAT THEY DID NOT INSURE BUILDINGS WITH CLOSE PROXIMITY TO A RIVER. THEY THEN LISTENED TO THE TAPES AND ADVISED THAT WE HAD DISCLOSED THIS FACT AT THE INCEPTION OF THE POLICY, HOWEVER THE CONSULTANT NEVER RECORDED THIS (HAD HE DONE SO, THEY WOULD NOT HAVE COVERED OUR BUILDING INSURANCE). RELUCTANTLY THEY PAID US OUT A LUMP SUM WHICH WAS A FRACTION OF WHAT THE DAMAGES WERE AFTER DEDUCTING AMOUNTS FOR BEING "UNDER-INSURED" AND ADVSIED THEY WERE GIVING US 30 DAYS TO FIND NEW BUILDING INSURANCE COVER! WE IMMEDIATELY CANCELLED OUR ENTIRE POLICY! WHAT A BUNCH OF DISHONEST, INCOMPETENT, RUDE INDIVIDUALS - THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO OPERATE - THEY ARE AN ABSOLUTE SCAM!
