Berg River Resort: Unfortunately I would not recommend this place. Firstly it was very overcrowded with not only campers, but also millions of day visitors using the facilities. A lot of people got crazy drunk and acted like twits, disturbing other campers throughout the whole night. (Repeated phone calls throughout the night to management did no good) None of the resorts rules were upheld.(no drinking alcohol by the pool, wearing of masks in the shop, etc) The people here seem to think that they have gone on holiday from Corona as well. I called the shop owner to complain about 20 people being in the shop at once, and half of those with no mask, and she just said they are tired of asking people to wear masks and need the money. I wont be back.
Where do I start? The waiter asked me three times whether I wanted red or white wine. He managed to forget what my friends wine order was twice. He didnt know the menu at all, and kept having to come back and ask what sides we wanted, etc. The food was shocking when it came. Way overpriced for what it was. Butter chicken that was 90% sauce, line fish and calamari cost R180 for a TINY square of fish, and shocking calamari. I ordered a cappachino, I was not given sugar, nor asked if I wanted any. We ordered "Baked Cheesecake with Rich chocolate sauce", for R60 which turned out to be a tiny, squashed piece of cheesecake, with cheap bottled chocolate syrup half a strawberry, and a small shot of canned cream. Pathetic!! Unfortunately it just went downhill from there. We were the only customers, but the manager spent his time watching the TV and ignoring us. Will definitely NOT be going back there again!
I was having trouble completing my transaction using a gift voucher so I finally called head office. The gentleman that assisted me not only immediately managed to complete the transaction for me, he went out of his way to deliver the dog food to my home for free as I had struggled for almost a week before I called Head Office, and really needed the food in a hurry. I am very impressed with Absolute Pets fantastic service and highly recommend them.
I signed up for oneplan pet health insurance end of February, to start March 1st. By beginning of April I had yet to receive the debit card to pay for vet visits that they promised. I called regarding this and a few days later received an sms that my card was ready and would be delivered via courier to me asap. That was 11th April. To date (being 25th April) I have yet to receive this card. After numerous calls to Oneplan they told me last week that I must be at home Monday and Tuesday mornings and during that time the card will be delivered. I waited at home both mornings, no call and no card. I finally called them at 11:30am today After 4 phone calls they told me that the courier has the card and has been trying to call me. A lie as I have had not one missed call. They promised to deliver at my work by 5:30pm and no call, nothing. AGAIN!!! I had told them I needed it delivered today as my dog is having surgery on Friday morning, and I therefore need the card before then. Tomorrow (being Wednesday) I am unavailable and Thursday is a public holiday. I am now at my whits end and don't know what to do. Can anybody here help me??

I had a very bad experience outside Checkers kloof Street, Cape Town today.

I tried to drive down the road next to Checkers Kloof Street, where unfortunately their service enterence is. The Shop rite delivery trust was parked at an angle across the road, and stayed that way for half an hour. When asked to back up and move slightly to the side so that cars could pass their manager refused to do anything and said that we must either wait half an hour or drive up the one way road. On my way down the road a taxi almost smashed into me coming up the one way road, and when I stopped and asked him what he was doing he informed me that Checkers had told him to do this. I find it completely unacceptable their total disregard for the rules of the road and for other people using the roads. The fact that cars were parked in some of their loading area (other parts were empty) does not give them an excuse to behave as and how they want to with the rules of the road. This is also not a once off incident.
