I have been trying to get my bank account with FNB closed now for over a year. First they would not let me close my account because I still owed on a laptop that I bought through them even though I asked them to set a debit order on my new account. They forced me to keep the account with them, having to pay R127 a month in fees for an account that I do not use, excepting for paying off the device. The device was finally paid off in on September 17. On September 18 I went to FNB Worcester to close my account once again!At that time I had R42 in my account. I spoke to an employee named Ettiene, and after a long wait and a call to head office, he assured me that the account would be closed and that he would confirm with me within 24 hours. I heard nothing. So this morning I logged on to my online FNB and lo and behold, I could still log in. And to my dismay, I find that I now once again owe FNB money after they added R127 in service charges to my account. This is absolutely disgusting that one should have to battle like this to get an account closed. Nobody came back to me with anything! If I did not check up on this my account would have been racking up charges again for months and months without me knowing. This is akin to theft in my book. I would advise anyone not to open an account with FNB ever, and if you have one, close it, and make sure it is close, and move to another bank. This is pure daylight robbery!
I received an email from a ICTS tracing company a few months ago with regards to unpaid provident funds that are due to me, and I was told that I would be sent the applicable documents to claim within 2 days. To this day I still have not received anything, and when I tried to get hold of the company again, the email came back with an error message. I have tried to contact Mine Workers Provident Fund via various means but I could either not get through or emails were just not answered. I finally managed to find /www.mwpf.co.za and tried to submit a claim via their website, but the upload feature just hangs. I sent an email to the email address listed on the site, once again, no reply. I finally managed to get through to the number on their site after a few days of trying, just to be met with a person answering that could not give me any coherent information. I was given the email ********** to send an enquiry to, I am still waiting for a reply. Why is it so impossible to be able to claim funds that are supposedly due to me? I have looked on the system at the above given website, and it does state that there are outstanding monies, but I cannot get anyone to pay attention to my enquiries. Is there anyone that can help me in this regard?
So this morning I bought R150 worth of electricity units via my Capitec Bank app - the result came back with only R60 being applied to units (of which I only received 58.03) and a R90 penalty? I am prepaid - what the hell was the penalty for? I buy units every month, and never ever have I run into a penalty for prepaid. Is this a new way of stealing money from your customers????
I recently lost my business, and we lost everything. We had to downgrade and move, and file for debt review. Fortunately a family member came to our rescue and helped us to not go the debt review route so we canceled with them, and we paid off all the banks that we owed money to, including FNB. However, I have device that I bought from them and I tried to arrange a debit order on my new bank account, which they have refused. I have asked them to then please downgrade my account to just a savings account as I am not going to be using them for banking, and seeing as the monthly bank charges with them are monstrous. They have not done that and I now have to not only pay the R398 on the device, but also the bank charges which amount to more than R400 per month. These banks are quick to take your money when it is going well, but when you are in trouble, they refuse to help. I paid over R450 this month to cover the device, as well as other charges and they were quick to take off R271 which means I have to pay over more money to cover the device. I will seriously never do business with FNB again.
<p>I bought myself and my husband the Dstv explora and the WiFi connector for Christmas. The wifi worked fine for about 2 weeks. Now we cannot watch Dstv catchup for love or money. The movie's just won't download and play at all. Not only have they increased their fees now, we also have to pay for Boxoffice even though we don't use it at all, and, over and above the subscription, we also pay an access fee. This is a total rip off considering we are already paying the subscription fee. And we have to pay for the decoder, satellite dish etc etc. And we cannot access the extra services despite all of this. Absolute bull ****. Dstv itself sucks because of the repeat repeat repeat of everything. I am seriously passed off at this moment in time.</p>
