We bought our house and bonded it through ABSA many years ago. At the time we were forced to include ABSA insurance as part of the deal. Our pool pump stopped working early in May and we claimed for this. On 18 May we received a rejection of this claim as the pump motor has been damaged by an "overload of electrical voltage caused by load shedding" I find this suspect as NOT a single other electrical item in our house has been damaged at all and I assume that a surge would have led to multiple sensitive electrical items failing and not just something as robust as a pool pump. My question thus is why am I forced to pay ABSA for my house insurance and cannot move to another insurer that honours their policies.
I have a small business and want to sign up for DSTV at my shop. I have on 3 occasions filled in the "Contact Me" on their website and received no responses at all. Phoning the contact number is even worse as I get asked to enter my customer number, which I do not have obviously as I want to sign up. My local DSTV installer/shop has informed me that they can only do household installations and activations.
Excellent, professional and prompt. We started a new company and required a VAT number. After a long hunt on the internet, we approached Ubuntu Company Services and have had nothing but prompt efficient service all the way. We were kept updated throughout the process and received our VAT number 7 days after making payment to Ubuntu. I am personally stunned at theis quality of service from a South African company. Well done to Norman and all the other people at UCS.
Before I start my rant, please note that I have done hundreds of thousands of Rands worth of business with Takealot over the last 5 or so years and been exceptionally happy with brilliant service. On 26 November 2019 I ordered 4 items from Takealot. Paid on the same day. Items were all in stock so expected delivery date was 2 December 2019. Having received nothing by close of business on 3 December I contacted them re my order and was informed that there had been a delay and I could expect delivery by 5 December. Please note that I initiated the query and was not informed by them of a delay until then. On 5 December only 1 item of the order was delivered and Takealot online order tracking clearly indicated that the remaining items were "Courier delayed, rescheduled for delivery". When this was queried as to expected date of delivery, I was informed that the items had indeed been delivered, yet I had not received them. I have now spent 2 weeks communicating via email with a constant thread of Takealot saying "We delivered" and me saying "No you didn't". The reason I am finally resorting to this platform is that I have CCTV footage CLEARLY indicating only 1 item was delivered and unfortunately have no more faith in Takealot's so-called problem resolution. (PS I have a huge mail trail showing my attempts to resolve prior to this posting). What a sad reputation breakdown in a once great company.

In December my wife's contract with Vodacom ended and we went to our local Vodacom shop to migrate her to prepaid as we did not want another contract. We were informed that the details had been logged on the system and that the changeover would be seamless. The last sms received by us on that contract re the account indicated a balance outstanding of R-19.00 thus indicating that were were in credit on this account.

3 Months later we get contacted by VVM Debt Collecting and informed that we owe Vodacom about R500 on this account. I requested a detailed financial statement from VVM indicating how this figure was arrived at. I also contacted Vodacom to get this info and was bluntly told that they cannot help as the account was handed over. Yesterday, 7 March 2017, I was contacted by VVM again and was told that they will give a discount if I pay. I once again requested a detailed financial statement. Today I was AGAIN contacted by VVM re this account and AGAIN requested a statement of account.

If there is a valid debt I will pay, but to date I STILL have not received a statement so that I can validate where this can be verified.
