This is a cautionary tale from me, I do Consider myself pretty savvy. But I made a HUGE mistake! Difficult to know where to start. I made use of a HIGHLY recommended person on this group. This has proven to be a harrowing experience, one where I was essentially scammed. This person was to install wallpaper for me, reupholster two occasional chairs, and make and install a custom headboard. The chairs were collected in December 2022, deposit of R6370 paid (a 70% deposit) for the chairs and headboard. In the interim, she had expressed that she does wallpaper, and so we took on her services as we’d already purchased the wallpaper and our other installer wasn’t available. I don’t have to say anything about the wallpaper installation - the images and video below will show plainly that the installation was a fiasco. Upside down panels, skew panels, bad overlap etc. R8000 worth of wallpaper ruined! So I refused to pay the installation. This person became extremely aggressive and belligerent - to the point where I had to bow out of the exchange. She still had my chairs!!! And the deposit for them and the headboard. She assured me she would deliver them and I would have to pay COD for the outstanding amount, to which I agreed. Yesterday my chairs were delivered, UNAPHOLSTERED, and the headboard covered in stains and not even King size! I immediately took it up with her and she once again became verbally abusive. And told me that’s what I get because I didn’t pay for the botched wallpaper job. At this point I request a refund because this is fraud. She refuses. This person is now also using images of my house to advertise her business!! This is a grave invasion of privacy. I never signed a release! This person is a Jack of all trades and will take on literally ANY job. But beware, anything can look good from 10 feet away!
There isn’t a rating low enough! Firstly R8000 worth of wallpaper ruined - panels hung upside down, skew, bad seams etc. she REFUSED to inspect the final product of her wallpaper guy. She misrepresented herself with the intention to prejudice me financially. We had also ordered a new headboard (with installation) and to reupholster two chairs. MONTHS later I was delivered a stained headboard of the wrong size and my chairs that weren’t recovered at all! She took a 70% deposit (over R6000!) and refused to refund me. Steer clear! CELESTE THIART of THINK DECOR INTERIORS CAPE TOWN defrauded me!

Absolutely fantastic! Seamless process and the best hospitality too! Even fed us as we collected our new ride. Well worth the drive from Durban and will totally be back!
It’s not often that one feels compelled to write a positive review (usually we only jump to social media and the internet to complain). But honestly we had the very best safari in Kruger National Park with Viva Safaris! From the transport that is super, to the staff, food and authentic African accommodation - it was perfect! We will be back! (Miss that very nice rice!)
Absolutely shocked and appalled at the rubbish service we have received from Mercedes Benz SA and Umhlanga branch. We bought a spiffy new GLC250d in 2016, shortly afterward we discovered that the car wasn't keeping time, and that the reverse camera would literally "bug out" 50% of the time we reversed. Took the car in, problem "solved" - car still didn't keep time... (loses 15 minutes a week!). Reverse camera sorted though. Shortly after the first service we started the car on a hot day, and had a black piece of plastic flu out of the left vent on the centre consul - hitting me square in the eye - Vent now totally shut and broken. we brought this up at the brakes service, and were told they would let us know.... nothing. Again at the ext opportunity we contacted the service advisor who helped us (Jason Moodley) said he would get back to us asap. Said he needed to "send pictures to germany) as they couldn't figure it out... NOTHING was done Again, recently we went to MB Umhlanga, this time dealing with Tracey Murugasen - who said she would give us feedback... and guests what? NOTHING has been done, no communication whatsoever. Not only is the quality of build obviously deplorable for air vents to fail, but the quality of service is even worse. I get the distinct impression that they were putting this off until after the warrantee period - I will be reporting them to the ombudsman if this is the case!
