For months now I have been unable to get an ABSA instant loan. I keep getting a message saying that my online profile does not qualify. There has always been money in my account for the agreed repayment date. When I call Customer care to find out why I do not qualify I get disconnected or transferred up and down. Really, ABSA, I expected better than this from you.
I was charged twice for an item and only realized it when I got home. I contacted them and was assisted by a lovely lady by the name of Lerato. She has assisted me and I will be refunded. I am very impressed with her professionalism and service.
I was charged twice for an item at the Clicks at The Glen. I tapped my card and unfortunately didn't check the amount. I only checked the slip when I got home and saw the error. :( By then it was too late and I doubt anyone would listen anyway. Very sad especially as it has been a tough year to start with.
A couple of weeks ago I was held up at gun point and my phone was stolen from me. We are insured with cell c insurance and put in a claim for a replacement device. The claim was granted and the excess was paid. 2 weeks later I am still waiting for my phone to be delivered in store. Everyday they have some bull**** story regarding couriers etc. Maybe tomorrow, maybe tomorrow is all we have been hearing for the past 2 weeks. Please get your act together!!
House of chess...they should change there name to house of crooks. Purchased an analogue chess clock from them in December for my son. Unfortunately the clock was defective and we tried to exchange it for a new one. Firstly, they kept it for a week as they needed to open it. Then they said I could come and collect it. They claim that it was over wound and that is why it is defective. They also claim that they can see that there was wear on the winding mechanism. MY SON DIDN'T EVEN USE THE CLOCK ONCE AND HE NEVER OVER WOUND IT. How do I know that it wasn't a demo model in the shop and one of them didn't overwind it themselves? Very disappointed in the service form them. Will not be going back.
This review is for Woolworths financial services, not for the retail section. I really didn't want to go this route at all, but I am so irritated with this whole scenario that I am left little choice but to complain. Woolworths financial services contacted me to offer me a credit card to which I accepted. They said they would run a credit check on me to see if i qualify and I did in fact qualify. They asked me where I would like to pick up my credit card and I said the Cresta branch. I went to Cresta and they said they could not print out the cards as they had no magnetic tape left. So...I went to mall of the South. They requested ID, proof of residence and a payslip which I duly gave them. I was given my card. Yay! Awesome! I proceeded to happily use my credit card and the first monthly instalment came off with no problem. Everything was peachy. Next thing, I get an SMS stating that a block has been put on my credit card as I have not supplied the correct documentation. So I duly contact them and they say the proof of residence is not good enough. Please bare in mind, I live on a plot. We do not get post. They stated that the reason they cannot accept my proof of residence is because it is a delivery note and they need a statement. So.... I get a statement and send it to them. THEN they say no, they cannot accept that as it has to be a utility bill, or a cell phone statement . Oh they also point out that they cannot accept it as the spelling of my name is incorrect THEY ALSO HAVE MY NAME SPELT INCORRECTLY BY THE WAY! They won't accept a bank statement with my physical address on it either as they say they cannot accept it as it is an ABSA bank statement. (Seriously) They also wont accept a payslip that has my proof of residence on it. Once again I explain nicely (although I am getting irritated with this) that I don't get post. Eventually they send me a woolworths affidavit that my spouse must fill out and get stamped by the police / commissioner of oaths to state that I do actually reside at this address. My spouse fills it out, takes it to the police station where they sign the affidavit and stamp it. I scan it and send it back to the FICA department. I get a reply from them and guess what?? They wont accept it!! Why?? The reason that they give is because the constable that signed the affidavit did not write his full name and surname!!!! He gave his initial and his last name and signed his signature and stamped it with an official SAP stamp!! All I can say is how childish and petty. I feel as if I am being toyed with by this department. My frustration levels are through the roof with them. Not only am I inconvenienced, but my husband is inconvenienced as well as he is the one who has to run up and down to the police station. In all honesty I don't think I will ever recommend them as a financial institution to anyone, and if I hear of any one wanting to get a credit card from them I will likely advise them against it. I am so unhappy.
I received an SMS from truworths saying that I have R1000 in vouchers and R3200 account limit. All I need to do is take my ID into the store an they will activate it. So....I drive all the way to my nearest store and find out it is not true. I had to fill out some details first. Bit annoyed, but I was still ok at this stage. The lady said I would get an sms letting me know if my application was successful. Low and behold, I get an SMS from them saying the following... "Your Truworths offer with vouchers is waiting for you. Please take your ID to the nearest store to complete." Now I could be mistaken, but that leads someone to believe the at the application is successful. So once again I drive all the way to Truworths...only to get there and be told that my application has been denied. ***?? Then why offer me **** in the first place? and why not send me an SMS saying it has been declined? Why tell me that I have vouchers and offers waiting for me and when I get there tell me it has been declined??? Twice I had my hopes up and twice I was deceived. Very, very disappointed. Dont offer people stuff and then decline it. Very bad.

I have been expecting a parcel from cape town now for more than 2 weeks. Unfortunately, my post box is at the Rosettenville Branch. Apparently, my parcel is there, but guess what?? Rosetenville post office has not paid their rent and they have been shut down by centre management!!! For how long? who the f*&k knows??!! P A T H E T I C!!!

Sent e-mails, they go unanswered, tried calling the 0860 111 502 number and it doesn't get answered. So disappointed. HOW AM I GOING TO GET MY PARCEL???
