Took deposit and ghosted us. Don't use
This is the second time I used Ooba's services to help secure a home loan, and Sue Wilson and Tracy Matthysen have been very helpful and on top of things in both occasions. During our first purchase we struggled to get any bank to approve a bond (we're foreigners and were perceived to have a high risk-rating), and after much back and forth communication to the banks Sue was able to secure a bond with Standard Bank for us so we could purchase our first home. Our second purchase seemed to go a lot smoother with multiple banks approving our bond application, but Tracy and Sue were able to obtain an amazing 8.43% interest rate from Standard Bank, which is almost unheard of in this day and age. This means that our monthly payments will be significantly less than we budgeted for. I'd gladly recommend Ooba's services to anyone who is looking to purchase property - they take all the hard work and communication out of of the process and are able to secure some very good deals on your behalf - at no cost to you. Thanks again to Sue and Tracy, it has been a pleasure working with you and my wife and I will reap the benefits of our short partnership for the years to come! Benedicte & Nick
I ordered a mygica media center from PC link computers in September 2017, and returned it initially in May 2018 as the device was malfunctioning. Apart from the fact that there is no sense of urgency from PC link and feedback only comes when the customer (repeatedly) asks for it, PC link's answer was that the device was fine. They've tested it for 20 minutes. I returned the device two more times since then, each time feedback was only provided when I asked for it and each time I lost the device for 2 to 4 months before it was returned. The latest story is that because I purchased the device so long ago I cannot claim a refund or replacement device - even though my initial return was well within the warranty period. The refund, which a lady called Natalie mentioned telephonically once, can also not be processed. I highly recommend any potential customer to not go with PC Link, as their prices might be okay but their after-sales service is non-existing. During my struggle i communicated to Natalie, and later to Ruan.
Impressed with their online platform to have vehicle asset finance documents signed.
PC Link computers is great when it comes to selling an item, but the after-sales service is running on a very slow pace. I have purchased a Mygica android media center a year ago and was very happy with the device until it started interrupting the HDMI feed. The staff from PC Link was very helpful to get the device returned, but did not follow up once they sent it to the workshop. I got my device back 3 weeks later with a note from the workshop saying they tested the device for 20 minutes and found no faults. (a reasonable mind would then think to test it a bit longer) After I received my broken device back I contacted them again and while they were not able to give me a refund, they were willing to replace the device and I was happy with that response. I had to follow up again before they arranged the couriers, and that has been 3 weeks ago without any communication since. I understand that PC Link Computers returns the device to their supplier, but I bought the device from them - not from their supplier. I expect the shop where I bought the device from to at least keep me updated on a regular basis, if it takes a few weeks before they receive an update I can understand that this might be out of their hands. PC Link has always been very polite in their communication, my only problem is that I, as the client, has to continuously follow up and not much seems to happen from their end without 2 or 3 requests. Hoping this review will increase the pace a bit...
My wife and I bought a couch from Jahne du Plessis interiors for R 10 999, and asked for it to be delivered the next week. This delivery date was confirmed by their staff, and I stayed at home to take delivery of the couch. They were a no-show, without any communication. When I inquired about the issue, I was told the couch was damaged in transit and had to be repaired. As they outsource their delivery that's a possibility and out of their hands, so we were patient and waited for the repairs. They did not provide any update unless I asked for it, and it took two weeks for them to get the couch repaired despite minor damages (that's more than twice as long as it supposedly took them to make it). After many inquiries they provided a new delivery date, and again they were a no-show. As the delivery date was on a public holiday, we were not able to contact them at the time. I did not question the fact that it was a public holiday when they confirmed the date to me, as I assume they know when their drivers would be on duty. The next day they informed us that their drivers weren't working as it was a public holiday, but that the couch had been dispatched (!!) from Port Elisabeth earlier that morning (despite delivery at our address in the Cape Town suburbs being confirmed the week before). They also gave us the number of a driver, a number which always went straight to voicemail, and informed us later that day that the couch had arrived in Somerset West, some 40-odd kilometers from our house - that was the Thursday afternoon. My wife asked that the couch would be delivered to our house the same day, but that query did not get a response. The delivery date was thus set for the next day, a Friday, and again they were a no-show. We now struggle to get anyone on the phone, as our calls are being denied or the phone rings until it goes to voicemail, and we get delayed responses via email. Debbie, the lady who assisted us with our order, initially said that if we wanted a refund it would be readily available, but has since come back with some objections and the fact that they now need to talk to their manufacturer to see if a refund can be given. (I never dealt with the manufacturer, I paid Jahne du Plessis interior and I expect them to give me my money back - no one else). We have since discovered that a number of people had the same issues with Jahne du Plessis interior, where goods were never delivered for over 3 months despite continuous promises being made to them. As far as I can see there is no real proof that the couch ever existed and this looks like a scam to me. We will thus open a police case and let our lawyers handle this, or open a court case against Jahne du Plessis interiors at the Small Claims Court.
