I took out a policy with Metropolitan but realised within days that it wasn’t what I wanted. I emailed the agent to cancel it and followed up weeks later with no response. The agent was using his personal email address, which Metropolitan later confirmed is normal and within their processes (WOW). As no premiums were deducted at the time, I reasonably assumed the policy had been cancelled. I was then declined life cover by Momentum a few weeks later after stating I had no existing cover, only to discover that three months’ premiums had been deducted for a policy I had already asked to cancel. I am now being passed between departments with no accountability or resolution. This experience has potentially serious long-term consequences for my insurance record and is deeply disappointing.
I purchased the FERRE stove online on April 30th, and it was delivered on May 2nd. At first, everything seemed fine—until I inspected the stove and realized how poor the quality was. Disappointed, I immediately requested a return. Here’s where the issues began: Strike 1: They informed me they would deduct 10% of the amount plus courier fees for the return—unexpected and unfair for a product that was clearly substandard. Strike 2: Despite multiple reminders, they only collected the stove on May 14th, leaving me waiting for nearly two weeks. Strike 3: On May 17th, I received a call assuring me the refund would be processed "as soon as possible." Yet, as of May 26th, my money still hasn’t been returned. This entire ordeal has been stressful and costly. If I had bought from Makro (I ended up buying from them) or Takealot, I would have had a better customer experience. Final Verdict: NEVER AGAIN. I strongly recommend avoiding this Leroy Merlin and opting for more reliable retailers instead. Save yourself the hassle!
Their products are very poor quality. I ordered a stove and it is super light (4 plate with oven). I asked to return it and they said they would charge me 10% for "changing my mind" I decline and eventually accepted as they only respond to your emails once a day and I need my money back to buy a new store else where. I agreed to the 10%, 4 days later the stove is still with me and no confirmation on when they will collect. I wish I had had a look at their online reviews cause it seems their customer service and quality of products are know for being terrible. Please come and collect your stove and give me my money back. I promise to leave you alone after that.

My studies with them were fine, but the real issues started when I needed my certificate. After finally paying my outstanding fees, getting my physical certificate became an unnecessary struggle. Now that it’s (finally) being couriered, all I’ve asked for is a simple digital copy—and even that is being ignored. Pros: Decent learning experience Cons: Delays in issuing certificates Poor communication Unresponsive to basic requests Verdict: If you don’t mind chasing documents and being left on read, go ahead. But if you value efficiency and good service, maybe look elsewhere.
I'm extremely disappointed with my recent purchase. The stove arrived after a long delay, and when it finally came, the quality was shockingly poor. To make matters worse, getting a refund has been a nightmare - I've had to chase multiple times just to arrange collection. This has been one of the worst shopping experiences I've had. The combination of late delivery, substandard product, and difficult return process means I'll never buy from this company again. Save yourself the hassle and shop elsewhere!
They have too many outages...you will not have an uninterrupted month, EVER! Last week I had an outage that only affected me and this week again they have another one that affected my entire neighborhood. I will be changing service providers. March I won't be with them anymore. And forget about them providing you with data, airtime or a credit note. They are a nightmare for remote workers.
They are ****mers. They deducted R449 from my account. Their wording is very sneaky and intended to **** you!
The worst… they have an outage very regularly. They don’t have an escalation process. Their managers are always in a “meeting” and will never call you back. They will tell you their turnaround time is 24-48hrs meanwhile you work from home. So besides the money you pay them you will also have to budget for extra data and minutes so you can call them to check on the ticket status. I pay R850 a month without fail and this is what I get.. definitely going to change this week. I have had it with them.
Ensure your finances are well-managed before committing. I was able to pay in full for the 1st and 2nd years, but unfortunately, the impact of COVID severely disrupted my financial stability, leaving me unable to pay for the 3rd and final year. Despite my efforts to negotiate with the finance manager— offered showing my payslips and explaining that I am under debt review—I was told that making exceptions wouldn't be fair to others. Without a transcript for the final year, I am facing challenges in securing a better job.
