We ordered block out curtains and accessories over 2 weeks ago. To be collected at the Gateway store. Despite numerous phonecalls to the Gateway store (no -one can even confirm the order) and much worse, several emails to their registered contact email address - everything has been ignored. It's as if my curtain order was never placed except it is visible under orders on their website. I have never received such shocking service from a retailer before!
On the 10th of October purchased the Bennett Reed Titan 20 vacuum cleaner online. Upon delivery, I discovered that the floor nozzle, the vacuum hose and the dusting brush were all missing. I emailed immediately and was informed that the unit would be collected and replaced, but no date was given. I followed up and asked for a date - to which I did not even receive a reply. Today is the 22nd of October and I have not heard a word. I have thus decided to purchase another brand and this morning asked for an immediate refund and collection of the unit. I have just received a phonecall informing me that the unit will only be collected next week and, upon INSPECTION thereof, a refund would only be issued at the end of next week. You would think that I, the customer, did something wrong wouldn't you? Bennett Reed clearly do not care about their customers and I advise anyone to choose another brand.
Discovery Insure sent my BMW to an inferior panel beater (KZN Panel Beaters) for repairs to my back bumper. A few weeks after the vehicle was returned to me the brake warning lights came on & we immediately took it Bosch in Umhlanga for diagnostic testing (the vehicle is just out of warranty). The results were too shocking. Whilst removing the bumper KZN panel beaters managed to cut straight through the brake wiring. There is photographic evidence of insulation tape wrapped around the wiring - clearly to prevent the brake warning light from coming on immediately. Sadly the service from Discovery Insure has been terrible. I wrote to the claims department asking for a refund of our costs paid to Bosch & attaching the report from Bosch as well as several photographs with ****ing evidence. Initially, Discovery simply ignored my complaint, however after publishing my 2nd review on HelloPeter I was contacted and asked me to submit a claim for rodent damage to my brake wiring. This would be unethical and fraudulent & to think an insurance company would suggest it defies belief. I will be contacting the Ombudsmen next but stay away from this company.
No response to my complaint over a month ago re a botched panel beating job and subsequent severe damage to the brakes on my BMW.
I have had the most horrific experience with this company. Discovery Insure sent my BMW to them for minor repair to my bumper and their technicians managed to cut through the brake wiring! They attempted to hide their damage and literally used insulation tape (we have photographic evidence from BOSCH who attended to the subsequent repair) to prevent the warning light from coming on immediately. Discovery Insure have nothing since I reported this - over a month ago. Disgusting service from both!
I recently submitted a panel beating claim for very minor damage to my BMW. Despite me asking for a BMW approved panel beater my vehicle was sent to KZN Panel Beaters & Assessment Centre in Mobeni, Durban. Whilst removing the bumper of my vehicle they managed to cut through the brake wiring to my brakes. The warning light obviously came on immediately & they then resorted to insulation tape - this would prevent the warning light from coming for a temporary period only but they clearly hoped we would not then suspect them when it did. The minute the warning light came on we booked the car into Bosch, Umhlanga and the Diagnostics Manager there, Mr Singh stated that in 20 years of business he had never observed such a 'BUTCHER JOB'on a vehicle. He also provided us with full photographic & a written report stating KZN's negligence. I referred everything to Discovery asking for a full refund of the R10 000 spent as well as an assurance that KZN Panel Beaters would be struck off their list of suppliers. To date I have received ONE phonecall from Discovery - telling me that I needed to send my vehicle back to KZN P Beaters for 'RECTIFICATION'! I am disgusted and anyone reading this should review their policy with Discovery as soon as possible.
