I lodged a case in April 2020, my ex landlord has not paid my security deposit of R8000 which i paid back in 2017 and I moved out in January 2020. I have to call and ask for an update and when I ask how long something will take I am told that they do not know. I understand that it was lockdown when I lodged my case but now it's been over 2 months property agencies being allowed to operate but no feedback in the month of August was given for how my case is going because I said this month I am not going to call and ask for feedback and noone called me. I do not know how long such cases take but I feel it's taking too long moreso because feedback is hardly given unless asked for. I am disappointed in the poor service given and thinking of cancelling the policy.
I entered into a lease agreement with Bianca Properties in March 2017, stayed at the place for almost 3 years. I paid R8000 deposit back in 2017 and moved out end of January 2020, it’s June 2020 in 2 days and I have not received my deposit back. Michel Tshepe has switched off her phone and won’t reply my emails. When I call the other employee at the agent they also can’t get a hold of Michel. I had a good stay at their property and I didn’t think they would treat me this way. I am so disappointed, to say the least! I really wouldn’t recommend anyone renting from them because of this awful treatment I’m getting from them.
On the 22nd of April I decided to make use of the 'click and collect' option on Jet's website. I purchased a pair of shoes and chose Boardmans The Grove as the shop I would collect my shoes from. I was notified it would take 3-5 working days till I could collect my shoes. I made this purchase on a Sunday, and I expected to get a message that my order was ready for collection by Monday the following week because of the holiday that was there on Friday. On Monday 30th April I phoned to ask on the status of my order as this was now day 5 and I was informed that the system showed my shoes had been delivered at Boardmans and I should go collect. After work I went to Boardmans, gave the lady who helped me my name she went and looked for the parcel and came back with the shoes. She then checked the system and my parcel had not been entered into their system and she asked if I had received a message informing me about the collection I told her no but I had called and was told I could go and collect the shoes. She said she couldn't give me the shoes because I hadn't received that msg. I left the shop with a heavy heart because I had gone out my way to the mall specifically to collect those shoes. Its day 7 now, I have not received a msg informing me if I should come collect my parcel now. The whole purpose of putting a timeline on delivery of a service is so one can plan with the help of that timeline but if they can't deliver within the time then they should stop lying to customers that they will deliver in 3-5 days. It is such an inconvenience and not to mention that their tracking system doesn't work and that they denied me to collect my shoes all because someone was slow at doing their job!
Few days ago I decided to open an account with Edgars but before I did so I called them and asked if they opened accounts for foreigners on work permits and they said they did. So I went to apply at The Grove branch. Lady who assisted me was quite helpful and I left happy with the service given. She said I would get an sms in about 20 mins and I should come back. This was on Tuesday. No message got in, so on Wednesday I called the new accounts department and I was told they are not allowed to take ID #s over the phone and I should go back to the branch. But I felt that was an inconvenience especially if I was just going to be told my application had been denied. So I sent a message on their Facebook page and got a reply asking me for my ID # and they said they had escalated the matter to new accounts gave me a ref number and said they would be in touch. Few hours later I got a call from a guy who said he was calling from Edcon, he said my account was not approved because my work permit does not have a stamp and I should go to home affairs and have it stamped. This is my second Critical S****s work permit and both of them came with no stamps but just a signature from the HA director. So I was confused by this, I called back later and asked for an explanation and the person I spoke to said I should go back to the branch. Which I did few hours ago and the lady who had processed my application said she had actually followed up that morning and was told the same thing about the stamp and was also confused about what exactly they meant because work permits don't come with stamps on them. I'm really annoyed right now because the person that's dealing with my application either doesn't know how a work permit looks like or they are just trying to make things difficult for me. I already have an account with Mr Price and my work permit worked fine opening that account.
