Needed roadside assistance and was sorted really quickly. Good premiums too. Would recommend.
MTN Insurance sent my phone here for repairs. Their courier couldn't figure out whether my phone had been delivered so I looked up the recipient on the waybill. I was really shocked and concerned about the bad reviews. I phoned the lab, and the lady who answered confirmed my phone had arrived. I told her about my concerns. I asked her whether she was aware that all the reviews on HelloPeter are one star, and she pointed out that the bad reviews were all old - 2020 and before. She assured me that Idroid Lab had improved vastly and offered to personally check my device before sending it back. Six days later my phone came back and it is pristine. It's like brand new. I actually can't tell whether this is my old phone, it very well could have been replaced with a new one. Don't be put off by the bad reviews - this business has shaped up quite nicely and I'm very happy with them. That said, I would not recommend MTN Insurance. My phone was sent in for a cracked screen (and I'll maintain that I got more out of the repairs than I bargained for) the excess I had to pay was over R400. A brand new screen would have probably cost around R800 and been done quickly locally. I would have opted to go that way instead and pay out of pocket.
My insurance arranged a courtesy car from Avis for me when my car was stolen. I paid extra to reduce my excess to R500 in case of an accident. On the day of the return, I got to the location I'd picked the car up from to find it closed with an A4 paper in the window advising me they had moved. Didn't think to notify clients or anything. Secondly, somebody did a quick inspection of the car and showed me some scratches along the bumper. I hadn't even noticed them, and in the report they made me write I explained that I had not been in the car when that happened - probably another car reversed into mine while I was parallel parked near work. I figure it's cool tough because I have the reduced excess. Only now, two days later, I receive an SMS saying I'm being charged R800 exluding VAT. So I phoned and was told that the extra R300 was an admin fee, which, conveniently, they don't tell you about when you sign for the car. I'd rather walk or Uber than use Avis again.
On Monday we urgently needed a laptop for my mom. We found the right one on CM's website and I connected with Richard Dalton via the live chat function. He said they had two in stock at their head office, but their delivery driver had left for the day. Richard then personally brought the laptop to my house that evening after work. I'm very grateful and impressed by how Richard went above and beyond for us!
