My wife ordered a book for me for Christmas 2019. It still has not arrived. All attempts to contact them have failed. We note that there have been many complaints. Do not use them!
If you are assaulted in the UK make sure you understand the law, because the police don't. They let off the attacker ( with an adult caution) who was in possession of a knife and assaulted my wife and myself. I have had 3 ops on my eye. The law say that if a knife is involved and that the assaulter is suspected of mental illness ( which the police says he was) then the assaulter can not be given an adult caution. Our complaint was made to the police over 5 years ago and we are still waiting for the result of their internal enquiry! Go to assault-trauma.com for details on how to help yourself in this situation. Beware, the police are not as squeaky clean as you would hope them to be. They are a disgrace to their uniform.
If you want a lying lawyer who has lied about one of his clients not assaulting myself and my wife and injuring my sight ( even though his client was arrested for assault), and not stealing furniture and art and antiques( even though the sales room admitted this) then use this guy Jerald Mackenzie. He also has a case reported against him with the Law Society of Upper Canada.Go to assault-trauma.com for all the details.
Ordered a book from Amazon. It arrived in a bag with no protection and with the spine smashed and torn. Tried to contact Amazon to get refund. Impossible. Apparently you have to send the book back ( at your cost) and hope they will refund you...be very careful of buying expensive books form Amazon.
Woolworth's latest scam is to mark old products "New" to draw people's attention to the product. Even use the scam "New" in big lettering then " packaging small underneath! I complained and they said the "New" on their pork pis and American cheese cake was a printing error. They also make mention of "their farmers" they own no farmers...the farms are owne and run by a company called "Technoserve." Be careful of Woolworth's choice of words on packs and posters...they are misleading and devious. They make donations to schools, "at no cost to you." Where does the money come from if it is not from their blotted profits.
I hear that Franz Stangl is still overcharging clients...marked-up one quote from R50k to R70k
"Peter Dorfer, one of the partners at Carrera Motors you can trust. It is Franz Stangl who I advise you to be very, very careful of. I took my Porsche 356B in for an oil leak issue, for Peter Dorfer to look at and rectify. But Franz Stangl took over the job as apparently his workshop that handles the newer Porsche's had very little work and he needed the work. They drove the car and then reported the syncro on first had mysteriously broken ( it was OK when I took the car in!). I was told that spares would cost around R40k which I authorised. I repeated asked Mr Stangl for estimates of labour costs which he refused to give me. At first he had said he couldn't give me even an approximate figure. Adding he doesn't give quotes/estimates and it's not usual to do so on old cars. I told him several times I have a few old vintage and classic cars and that any workshop that works on them always gives an estimate for parts and labour. And also calls/emails for permission to go-ahead. They also up-date me on any issues the might come across that need attention and therefore more money and ask for my approval to continue the repairs. without any phone calls or emails I was finally handed an invoice for R78,000.00 !!!! This included outwork- the machining of the gearbox ( which they never sought authorisation for, just like all the other labour costs) and a complete set of new brake pipes ( which again they did not seek authorisation for). Since then we have met with Mr Stangl and his story changes from minute to minute...now he actually admits he could have given a quote for the labour, but only when he sat down!!!!"
