At first, I was very impressed with both their service and their rates. They did a very good job cleaning my home. However, I was to discover afterwards that their honesty leaves much to be desired. The owner owes me R2200 and is refusing to answer her phone, reply to messages or take any steps to pay it back.
I am sick of all the false advertising that happens. The Galaxy A11 was advertised to be on special for a week but half way through the week when I tried to order they claimed all stock was sold. Nowhere on the advert was limited stock mentioned as a condition of the sale. If a deadline for a sale is stated then this must be adhered to unless the stock limit is clearly stated on the advert. Else this is lying.
The ride was fine but the charging - I pre-booked thinking this would make it easier and more reliable. Then I was charged a booking fee which was not mentioned beforehand and 2 minutes before my scheduled pick-up time they increased my rate by 1.5x because of 'high demand'. Based on the time I booked for, they should have been aware of this in advance and should not change quotes at the last minute when I could not make other arrangements. Then my ride arrived 15 minutes later! The whole point of pre-booking was to avoid this. I complained but was told this was standard policy. Will definitely not be using Uber again.
