I reached out to re-instate a Garnish Order to help pay school fees off I am a single mother, divorced now for 16 yrs and its been a constant battle of attorneys and magistrates courts etc.... So at my last attempt for just a final cry for help as my kids are in their final 2 years of school, I reached out. I got a fee schedule and already said I would not require representation in court @ R18 000 per day. I just wanted the Garnish Order reinstated and to get my court date in which I will then represent myself. I budgeted on R5000 max of which I received and paid. However, I should have been informed before any further action on my case was being made, so i can decide on my affordability. My exercise is costing MORE than I am trying to get from my ex-husband to help with school fees. I could just have paid the R17 000 to school fees and ALL I GOT OUT OF that amount was a summons served to my ex.... The rest of the bill is the attorney "following up" and driving and printing and driving more and emailing..... Basically do her job for her client to get a favourable outcome. The job was reinstate garnish order and get court date. "following up" is part of getting to a favourable outcome. If you are going to the magistrate for 1 client then you are going for all in that area. So do we all pay the travelling fee... printing 68 pages...for what? Giving me an update on email costs me R140 every time.... What part of single mother, needing help. Rather have the courtesy to say this will costs you more than you can afford and that the best you can do is go to magistrate and fill out these forms etc... i will pay for direction to navigate our legal system. BUT I cannot keep paying for "following up". Payment should be results driven and a fee for the service negotiated up front. Had they said pay me fixed amount upfront for an outcome. I can live with that and decide on my affordability. Now I am *****ed either way. R77 000 school bil to pay by Aug 2025 and now the balance of R10 065,40 to finish paying attorneys for issuing a a summons and "following up" with NO RESULTS to prove what my R17 000 bought me. No transparency and not being forth coming and not evaluating the client and situation on case by case basis. Payment should be a result of SOLUTION or REWARD/OUTCOME. I dont know the law and single mothers try turn to the law for HELP BUT just get *****ed more and more. THANKS FOR NOTHING BURGER HUYSER ATTORNEYS!!
I took my daughter for an eye test and frames. Decided against the frames, due to affordability. Told them NOT to put in claim against frames and only eye test. They still went ahead put in the claim.... I had a fit, got them to reverse it ONLY for TORGA TO RESUBMIT the same claim 9 days later...... and now my savings account is down by R3000 odd and we are in lockdown and there is no one to help me. My medical aid wants an email from them to say they can do the reverse as they see they did it twice.... but clearly cant get hold of anyone. CON-ARTISTS!!! no matter if you follow protocol and get someone's "word" that things will be done... when they see a healthy SAVINGS ACCOUNT on medical aid they take their chances. I will NEVER EVER use incompetent people or services there again. And once this lockdown is over.... they can expect my worst side coming out!!!!!
Client services unreal. They give a 76yr old member a Discovery form to complete to change banking details but then wont action!! And say she must go online and change it herself.....76yr old who in the tele recorded conversation says she has no access to the website. As I say UNREAL but they will be quick to phone her when the membership lapses!!!
The Meyersdal shop, debited us instead of crediting us for a pool chlorinator we returned. Now to get our refund back plus the extra debit they took is proving to be a nightmare. No communication from their accounts department and no feedback on when payment will be done. They don't answer their phones and only when they want to reply to WhatsApp only.... it's been over a week now and we are no where closer to knowing when our money will be refunded. The staff at Meyersdal shop stand at the door refusing us to come in. Absolutely shocking!!!! Give our money back.
