Such great service and efficiency from the Optometrist and all the staff at Torga Optical Mall of the North. The will serve you with a smile and such warmth! I’m so thankful for their kindness and hospitality 🤏🏽

I visited the store last week Tuesday for an eye test and new glasses as my ones broke. Was told I’d receive them on the Friday of the same week. This week on Tuesday, I gave them a call to find out where my glasses are, only then do they tell me that one of the lenses has cracked and will need to be fixed. I reminded the lady that it was them that put the time lines for delivery and failed. I had to do the follow up without them calling me to let me know of the delay. I need my glasses, had explained this when I went in for the eye test. I asked for a refund and miraculously my glasses were going to be ready the next day. I explained that I was not going to be around/available and had set my schedule around their time frames for delivery, asked for a refund to go consult another optometrist whose transparent, honest and delivers basic customer service. They refused. I contacted Customer care and they responded with an email saying they’re still going to find out what happened…they didn’t come back to me. Next thing, I get a message saying the claim has been processed. How arrogant that they’d go ahead and force this sale on me even when I asked for a refund. They don’t care about my experience but care for getting their money and moving on. I still want my refund so I can start the whole process again with another optometrist. I’ve been a customer of theirs for so many years and this is the treatment I get.

I was thinking the hole weekend if I should say something or not. I had a horrible experience at Togo Optical Meadowdale Mall. I have an autoimmune disease and due to my medication I need to test the back of my eyes once a year its a 5min test nothing major standard one that is done all the time. Spec savers who has always given great service was fully booked so I tried Togo as they where empty. They would not charge my medical aid unless I paid the price for a full eye test of R600. They wanted to charge me 300 cash for a 5min test. Spec savers for the one test is alot cheaper and they will load it for just that test on my medical aid. The way they spoke to me and treated me. I cried all the way home then thought I was just being sensitive until today when it is still hurting that they would discriminate against someone. I just overall feel hurt. My husband was going to try do he's glasses there now he will definitely not be going. Im just sad at how I was treated and pray it doesn't happen to someone else.

Northmead Mall branch. My husband needed reading glasses and request bifocals, but was told the distinct line on the lense would bother him, he needs multifocals for which he had to pay in almost R2k. He waited almost 3 weeks with no communication from the branch. When the glasses eventually came, he couldn't see a thing but was told that his eyes had to got used to them. After a week he took them back, still not being able to see with them on. He was retested, and told that new technology bifocals miraculously emerged in that month and that they would order that for him. Got the new glasses and could at least use him. Complained that he had to pay for multifocals he couldn't use because of their mistake. Got told that they gave him a pensioner 's discount ( he is 52) and that he would have paid in more. All further communication were ignored.

Highveld mall In August last year I tested my eyes and bought lenses cleaner. I was charged a R160.00 and paid with my card. They keep on sending me massages says I owe them money. I call them and even sent them the proof that I paid. Very unprofessional store

Torga Optical N1 City,Cape Town Staff have no customer care and unreliable, went there 29/11/2025 walking around in the store looking for a frame before my eye test the one lady helped looking for frames and we set aside the frame that I want ,the optometrist said they can't contact medical aid because Discovery is having there staff party. So I said ok I'm working and I can only come Monday after 5 no problem he said I will be here,come Monday no optometrist to help and nobody knows about my appointment finally one is the staff looked on the computer and said oh your appointment was for 1pm 😡 .I asked the girl that keeped my frame aside does she still have it and the she start looking and couldn't find it , in the mean time I'm walking around and start looking for another frame while she is looking for the one set aside for me, there I found the frame on the other side where the most expensive frames is . Service at Torga Optical N1 City sucks staff pathetic 😞 😡😡
