Siyamukela Ntombela and Nomusa Jiyane truly went above and beyond. Despite heavy rain, difficult dirt roads, and challenges contacting us due to power and signal issues, they persevered and successfully delivered multiple packages. They even carried everything through the rain to our patio, all while maintaining friendly, positive attitudes. This was the true definition of service with a smile. Thank you both for your dedication and exceptional service! ⭐️
At no point did I provide my contact details to this company and the harassment of spam calls at all hours of the day has been incessant. Block ten numbers and they create 20 more. I can’t imagine how you get a single client behaving like this. I will be reporting this company to the government Information Regulator for POPIA violations.
I made use of this service for years and suddently the company requires verification through online systems that are completely broken and don't work. It takes weeks for support to get back to you and when they finally do, you're either speaking to a bot or you're speaking to sales people who don't read what you actually write - and copy-paste information from templates. They've also made it as difficult as possible to complete the verification process. Why after years of using this service do I suddenly require verification? In the process of trying to finalise my payments and close my account, I was forced to manually add my card details for every single transaction because of this failed verification system update. Between their website team and the service staff, they have no idea what they're doing.
While I previously had a decent experience at a Sorbet salon and intended to return, that will no longer happen. Using Sorbet’s services requires handing over personal information – which they have repeatedly and shamelessly abused. I am now bombarded with several harassing emails and SMSs every single week, with no way to unsubscribe. Worse still, Sorbet thinks it’s acceptable to charge customers to stop receiving their spam SMSs. That’s a disgrace – and I refuse to pay to protect my own privacy. I have asked, begged, and demanded that they remove my contact details from their systems. They’ve ignored every request. This is not just bad service – it’s a clear violation of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Since Sorbet refuses to act responsibly, my next step is a formal complaint to the government Information Regulator. Maybe then they’ll start taking the law – and their customers – seriously.
I made a huge mistake spending R600 on a headset from you. I specifically asked and you assured me that it had a good quality microphone. It was supposedly JBL according to the box, but there's no way that was the case. They were so expensive, and it was truly the worst quality microphone I've ever used. I couldn't believe how bad it was, it was as useful as a paperweight. 😭 I could have bought something much better elsewhere. I desperately needed this for work today, and tried to return it in a panic. I had to send a driver to return it, but wound up sending it to the wrong Repair Desk (Cedar Square) because your branch isn't on Google Maps. As such, I couldn't even contact you. Hence, using this platform to provide you with feedback. I asked the driver to take it to the other store, but it seems that the Cedar branch just accepted the product. I have no idea why. So, now it's gone and I've wasted R600 as well as additional Uber fees on nothing. It's my fault for getting confused on the return address, but I wouldn't have been in this position if you weren't dishonest about the brand and quality in the first place. I trusted you. Don't tell customers you are selling them quality brands when it's overpriced, low-quality knockoff items. It will ruin your business in the long run.
I think pretty much anyone can register as a seller on Takealot now, and there are no quality control mechanisms in place. I used to order stuff almost monthly but now I’m anxious about everything I buy. I’ve received “branded makeup products” that are obviously not original, the wrong colour items, incorrect product descriptions (especially dimensions), and multiple previously opened boxes and goods. Like, you’ll receive boxes that have been taped closed again with disgusting looking packing tape. This includes two gifts I have bought that I’m so embarrassed to give to someone but don’t have time to get something else. It looks so tacky and makes me wonder why these goods were returned in the first place? Not to mention how the vendors think it’s okay to resell opened boxes? Takealot is good with returns but these are products I wouldn’t risk exchanging because I’ll probably receive more of the same standard from the vendors. If I get my money back again, it just means I’ve wasted a lot of time. It’s easier to go out and buy things that are actually new. Convenience is Takealot’s main selling point, but if ordering means spending money on poor quality and returning it, it’s not convenient. I feel like it’s become a case of 40% chance that you will receive what you ordered. What is the process to become a vendor on Takealot? It seems like anyone can these days. I don’t think I’ll risk purchasing from Takealot again, I’ve been disappointed too many times.
This is the most bizarre internet service I’ve ever used. I was a Rain customer for about a year. From the day I received my 5G service with 2 SIM cards, the sims didn’t work. I’m so glad I didn’t port my number. If you sent an sms it would arrive 3 hours later. The same with receiving and I couldn’t dial out most of the time. Some days I could make phone calls others not. No matter how many times I tried to get support no one would help me or they’d tell me to set the sim up which I had already done. So I just gave up on the SIM cards. I moved locations thinking it wouldn’t affect the wireless service but had laughable speeds like that 3MB uploads. I only needed 10 up and down which was well below what I was paying for, but it wasn’t even reaching that bare minimum. I thought maybe coverage in this area was poor and I decided to cancel. The representative who called said there was strong coverage and they just needed to change the tower I was accessing. I figured that was on me for not informing them of change of address. She changed towers but the speeds barely improved. She asked if I could give it some time and said she’d call on the 25th to see if I wanted a technician to come out. I knew she was trying to squeeze another month out of me as they’re trained to do, but figured I’d give them a chance to deliver the promised service. She asked if she could remove the cancellation request and I said yes. Fast forward to the 24th and my internet is switched off because the cancellation was not in fact removed. I had not arranged an alternative because I thought I’d be giving them another month. I was furious and this negatively impacted my work. However, it’s just as well because I don’t want to deal with this anymore. I was glad to see them collect the router and leave the following week. I contacted Afrihost and received same day delivery with 5 times the download speed and 13 times the upload speed on average. This package is only R150 more and actually reliable, with impeccable customer support. It may come with a free router but the 5G package is completely unreliable. Don’t waste your time.
Great service, speedy delivery. There was a bit of a mixup, but it was escalated - handled quickly and effectively. Faster than other services I've used. The sign on discounts made it affordable, and the speeds are incredible! The 5G download speeds above my package standard, and upload speeds very close to the package standard. I used an Afrihost connection previously (ADSL). Previously, and with the new service I have found the customer support most helpful as you receive almost immediate support through Whatsapp. Support staff are knowledgeable and helpful. I have yet to test the efficiency of the Internet in loadshedding, and I'm not sure if service is ever intermittent (this is the case with a lot of 5G services) but so far it is excellent.
I've been a long-time customer and always enjoyed the deals and the convenience of online ordering with Takealot. While the range of products available has expanded, I've become very concerned about the vetting process for vendors to be eligible to sell on the platform. I've been seeing more and more reviews, and having my own personal experience, with receiving products that are **** name brands, open and USED, or just generally not as advertised. This, of course, is not the case for all sellers. I used to trust that Takealot had vetted them, but now it feels like Facebook marketplace where you have to be cautious of ****s and look into individual sellers to determine their trustworthiness. Quite sad. Takealot has vamped up customer service. They're highly responsive and arranging exchanges and refunds has become much easier (which is excellent), but this doesn't offset the disappointment of receiving substandard products so often. It wastes one's time. I hope the company can review and pivot from their current business model, or at least implement quality control checks with the sellers they associate with. Long term it could irrevocably damage reputation. For now, I will probably be ordering a lot less, and only from sellers I'm fami**** with or have the time to conduct independent research on. At that point, it's easier to order from those companies directly, or use other online platforms.
I can't recommend Orbit enough! Their rings are uniquely crafted and exceptional. Despite some stupid blunders on my part, Marita maintained absolute patience and went above and beyond in terms of customer service. The pieces I ordered are breathtaking.
