This little restaurant is just around the corner from the trendiest spot in Stellenbosch, so easy to miss. But do yourself a favour and try it. Authentic, really delicious Greek food. At a fraction of the price you’ll pay for some ahem food along the more trendy street. Maybe the best service I’ve ever had in almost any restaurant.
I ordered a German watch on temu. Paid. Then I got demands to pay customs. Not on the Temu website but on their supposed courier website it said they won’t do this … clear phishing. So I ignored it. Then they said it had been delivered and signed for in Jhb (I’m in CT). Then upon enquiry I was told there was a delivery problem and I will be refunded - but they only initiated this 2 weeks after the delivery failure. And by all accounts here, refunds a) may not take place b) I may be told I will be refunded via Temu credit c) they will hold on to enough of our money to make them a collectively viable commercial bank. Read between the lines. Any global corporation having problems reported on this scale would conduct a forensic investigation and follow the digital footprints to plug the leaks. They haven’t. Which speaks volumes. Btw I think most of these positive reviews are Chinese bot generated; and there are contradictions in Temu responses
It’s almost funny, how stupid DSTV think we are. Their TV ads focus on helping us to pay. Word of advice, DSTV - maybe not the best signal to your customers you have their best interests at heart. Focus on the value side of the value for money proposition. Remember when they downgraded us from 5 points of access to 2 cos “they’re concerned about our privacy”? I really appreciated the advice from the fox to us hens. Every time they upgrade their app (clearly without stress testing it), we go through a “development phase” struggle with a service that isn’t being provided, is being charged for, and where “walk-in centre” is the default. More cost, no clear answer, no service, while we are left to deal with and pay again for what is likely a systems error. But wait: they will promise to sell us more for less. We need a social media campaign to the telecommunications regulatory authority under whose license they operate.
Their systems are so broken down it's almost funny. Each division doesn't talk to the others. Staff within or across divisions give different explanations. When the call centre doesn't know what to suggest, they simply put you on hold hoping you will drop the call (then eventually drop it for you). Escalating to management doesn't help. Nor does escalating to managers of managers. They sell the illusion of security via their brand name but my guess is they have zero ability to actually do anything about crime

First 100% authentic Iranian food I’ve found in SA. Every single thing is delicious. Value for money 10/10. Good luck getting in without a booking. They could up their game on the bread (I think they don’t have a traditional oven). Also diversify further into Iranian fine dining (there’s one truly fine dining dish). But as a startup, it’s Persian cuisine as a Persian grandma would serve from her own kitchen. Actually, forget what I said about fine dining.
DSTV. A good option for people who are too lazy or dumb to figure there’s better, cheaper options available elsewhere. Trust me on this, as a DSTV Premium subscriber who was lazy and dumb over past 20 years. They persistently increase rates. Reduce quality of content ((seriously, now down to C grade on movies available). I can stream all news, sports, movies and other stuff I occasionally watch for 10% of DSTV price. In the context of which, DSTV appears to believe my primary concern is where I can upgrade my package. When it comes to service delivery, ahem. Feel free to try out their latest customer interfaces (no, they didn’t test these before - you’re the guinea ***). Spend hours on the phone to their call centre (where their systems are designed and their staff are trained to stall or kick your concerns into spaces you’ll just give up, eventually). I think they know most people have figured out there’s cheaper, better ways for us to access the content we are paying for. So they’re winding down, and just milking us dry before they close shop.
Quite possibly the most broken retail outlet in SA. Who is the CEO, and why hasn't he/she been fired yet? I wanted to order a tablet for my mother. Went online. Game was advertising a good deal. I went into the first retail outlet they said had in stock. They didn't, but checked their systems and told me of two other outlets that did. I travelled (far) to both, both said they had been out of stock for some time. So I ordered online. Paid. Was told it would take 5 - 7 working days to deliver. 8 days later I followed up. Online had no record of my purchase or payment. A few days later received a response the order was on its way. A few days later received communications they are out of stock. So they advertised stock they don't have. Took payments. Made promises. Broke promises. Held onto my money for all that time. These are symptoms of a deeply dysfunctional organisation.
I’ve stayed in hundreds of guest houses. Nothing as special as this. It’s not just the aesthetic appeal. Not just service levels. There’s something extraordinary about Moontide. One of those things you have to experience before you geddit.
Superb restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Gracious setting, excellent service, outstanding food, great value for money. I’m vegetarian. Their Bombay Breakfast with lentils and poached egg is not something I’ve come across elsewhere; totally delicious; and combines non-meat proteins perfectly.
