This establishment has fought the Covid-19 disaster blue in the face. They have done their utmost to retain their staff and keep up their momentum during a very socially and economically depressing period. I walked past this restaurant on Saturday afternoon, and they were busy serving food to the homeless (despite their very severe economic losses during this period). I salute the owners and staff of this wonderful establishment.
AFTER EXHAUSTING EVERY AVENUE TO ASSIST SOMEONE IN SECURING THEIR COVID-19 GRANT, I RESORTED TO PHONING THE PRESIDENTIAL HOTLINE. (WHAT A WASTE OF TIME.) THE MAN WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE LISTED TO WHAT I HAD TO SAY, THEN TOLD ME TO GO BACK TO THE SASSA OFFICE (THE VERY OFFICE THAT TOLD ME THEY DO NOT DEAL WITH COVID-19) AND PHONE THE HOTLINE (THE ONE I TOLD HIM IS COMPLETELY DEFUNCT.) HE THEN TERMINATED THE CALL. I HAVE A DEGREE IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AND WOULD LOVE TO HELP MY FELLOW SOUTH AFRICANS, BUT THOSE WHO CURRENTLY OCCUPY PUBLIC ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS CLEARLY HAVE NO CONCERN FOR THE PEOPLE WHOM THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO SERVE!
THEY ARE ADAMANT THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COVID-19 GRANT. THEY CLAIM THAT THIS FUNCTION WAS OUTSOURCED, BUT TO WHOM THEY HAVE NO IDEA. THEY DO NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONES. WHEN YOU GO TO THEIR OFFICES, IT LOOKS ALMOST AS IT THEY ARE PLAYING GAMES OR SITTING ON FACEBOOK BEHIND THEIR DESKS. THEY SHOULD ALL BE FIRED AND QUALIFIED PEOPLE SHOULD BE GIVEN THEIR POSITIONS.
During lockdown the owner, Glenn Muller, will be preparing the most scrumptious and fresh meals and Halaal meals for Iftaar dinners. Situated in the Bo-Kaap and having the most delectable food served to me has brought back many uniquely nostalgic memories of the Cape Town that I once knew . TRY THE TAKE AWAY OPTIONS DURING LOCKDOWN, BUT BE SURE TO TRY THE CAFE ZOR EXPERIENCE ONCE LIFE GOES 'BACK TO NORMAL'. :)
Adrian Ashby is the director with whom I have been liaising with for several years. I have received only exemplary service of the highest standard from Adrian and his time. Of note is that this firm has been accredited by Old Mutual.
I walked in to ask a question. Both of the old geyser who run the place were very rude, even told me to leave their store and never come back. These two old geysers need to go!!!
