Capitec Bank

Capitec now charges for Capitec to Capitec payments
Capitec introduced a fee for making payments to another Capitec account. The expected behaviour is that Capitec to Capitec transfers should remain free, as they'd always been. For any other transfers or payments, a two working day period transfer should also be free. This has always been the case until recently. Instant payments were available at an additional charge. For some reason, Capitec has decided that it no longer wants to be a competitive bank in terms of interest received, or in terms of banking fees. The race is on the join the ranks of yet another boring exorbitant bank.

Capitec changed its beneficiary payments for the worse
Capitec recently changed its beneficiary payments, for some reason. It wasn't broken. It didn't need fixing. By default, you could make a payment that would clear in two working days. Now, there is no such option. You can only select the immediate payment, which of course dishonestly and underhandedly sneaks in an additional banking fee. You can select a future date. Does this incur additional costs? Nobody knows. There is a clear downward spiral here and Capitec appears to want to be regarded as just another terrible bank in an already overpopulated field. As a loyal customer of Capitec of many years, I am shopping around for a banking service that represents the values and quality service that Capitec used to represent. I am not interested in just another FSB with its overly complicated product offerings, and sneaky hidden charges. Shameful.

Hidden charges during check-in
This so-called service forces their victims to pay extra for luggage. Having luggage is kinda a thing for travellers, and this is stock standard service with virtually every standard airline. FlySafair flies way below these standards. What is more is they sneak in this surcharge during check-in. I recommend that you do not support this airline or anyone with ***** practices like this. One star is too high up in the clouds for them.

Capitec is giving lower interest in their normal accounts now
Capitec just dropped the interest rates on their normal One Account by about a percentage point. This is turning into just another bank by the day, along with the overly complex product offerings and accompanying headaches.

Stop cold calling people
They obtain personal information potentially illicitly and *******ly, and then think they are going to get someone's business by cold-calling them. Please, this is not the stone age. You cannot cold call people any more, period.

Stone age mentality cold calling people after illicitly obtaining personal information, allegedly
This company cold-calls people after obtaining personal information in a potentially illicit and questionable manner. They have apparently not heard of POPIA.

Easy Equities

They change terms and conditions unilaterally on their side do not deal with them
Firstly apologies for the one star. I would rate Easy Equities lower but I cannot. When these humans by very loose definition of the term decided to sign everyone up for their rewards program that nobody asked for, and nobody agreed to, I immediately notified them that I want to clear out my accounts and move to a reputable financial services provider. They blocked some of my funds and told me oh no, we changed other terms too without you signing anything and without you being informed of anything. Must be nice to be so fast and loose with people who once were viewed as your customers. Now it's still an uphill battle to clear out my account and to move to a reputable provider. It's been months. Pity because the website works really well and I loved the apps. Word to the wise: Rather burn your money on a pile in the backyard. You will lose out less plus purely from the heat your money would do more for you than when you entrust is to this place.

Locked funds all of a sudden they are not trustworthy
Going from bad to worse, upon trying to close all my EasyEquities accounts, they have now decided to implement a Locked funds feature. This means I cannot withdraw all of the remaining balance in the account, and I am forced to deal with this lacklustre company even further to try and resolve their incompetence. I am closing my holdings with them due to the mandatory Thrive rewards program, which I never signed up for. Truly a terrible company, they are not trustworthy.
