Namibia Wildlife Resorts manage the camps in Etosha. We stayed at 3 of them this month-Okaukeojo, Halali and Onkoshi. Each one was worse than the previous one. NMR has a golden goose-if they don’t understand that and look after that wonderful asset, tourists will be looking elsewhere. It is an embarrassment to the country. Start by getting the staff to understand that they aren’t doing the tourists a favour. Then provide edible food. Then fix the shocking state of the camps and accommodation. Come on NWR-you have a jewel, make your country proud and boost tourism.
During our 3 week trip of Namibia this month, we stayed at 3 Gondwana lodges-Namib Desert Lodge, Damara Mopani and Okapuka Safari Lodge. I can’t recommend them enough. Stylish and comfortable accommodation, wonderful food, cheerful and helpful staff and beautifully kept grounds. One can tell they are well managed and their guests are really well looked after.
This is my second hire from Hertz in another country in 6 months. The first was in Cyprus which was perfect. We received exceptional service from Hertz Windhoek this month. Firstly our car was upgraded from a Fortuner 2 wheel drive to a Fortuner 4x4 at no extra charge. After 10 days the battery gave problems. Hertz Windhoek sent a driver overnight to us in Etosha who waited at the gates and then fitted the battery in the camp at 8am the next morning. They were a pleasure to correspond with prior to renting and extremely helpful at the airport when we collected and returned the car. And my deposit was refunded within 3 days! I will be renting from Hertz locally from now on and hopefully receive the same service.
I had a great experience at Istore Cresta. I ordered a used iPhone from Njabulo. It was ready when I got there the next day, paperwork done quickly, then left my phone with Tshepiso for an hour who transferred all the info over, at no charge. Quick and easy, service with a smile!
I’ve used Safair a number of times this year-always on time and very pleasant flights. On a flight from Lanseria to Cape Town last week I lost my ID card. Safair staff at Cape Town airport not only found it for me, informed me of this and kept it for a week until I was able to collect it. Saved me an immense amount of trouble! Thanks Safair,
My experience with the Cape Town airport branch was exceptional. I hired a Kia Seltos but they supplied a nearly new Havel Jolion which was a terrific car. Staff were not only friendly but efficient too. I will definitely hire from them again.
Both my mother and myself have had the good fortune of getting our vaccinations done at Louwlandia Pharmacy Direct in Centurion. What a pleasure! The staff went out of their way to be polite and attentive, the wait was minimal, and the organisation was so professional and impressive. In these trying times, well done guys!

I was a happy customer of Best Secure. National Security failed to mail me and advise me that you have bought out Best Secure. I did not want to be a client of a large organisation such as National Security and therefore cancelled the service after a few months when I started receiving mailed accounts and calls from your accounts department. Please be advised that I have paid an amount of R1783.36 in lieu of the cancellation of my policy due to me not wanting to be a client of National Security and your relentless demands of fees. My reasoning is that I as an individual do not wish to have the stress and more unpleasantness of dealing with National Security who cannot be bothered to reply to me despite numerous mails from myself explaining that I did not want to be a client of National Security. From my personal frustrating dealings with your company who are not willing to listen to me, (and would rather just send threatening legal letters for this small amount), as well as the hundreds of other South Africans who have taken the time to write reviews on Hellopeter, resulting in the company having a shocking 1,6 out of 10 review, my opinion is that National Security’s priority is their bottom line-clearly not customer service. Take the customer’s money but don’t give a damn about them thereafter. We as South Africans have no option to utilise the services of security companies. This does not give them the right to exploit us and ignore our voice. The future demise of your company will be welcomed by myself and the many others who have had dealings with yourselves. I used Heatwave Randburg to refurbish and install my Bogen fireplace. Refurbishment was done fine, although I haven't used it yet. The evening after the installation the heavens opened and the water poured in a few meters from the newly installed chimney. I dealt with Carol who sent the team back. She then called me to say the problem did not emanate from the installation, but they did waterproof the section. Anyone who understands water will know that water runs to the lowest point and the source of the leak and the leak are usually not the same place. It still leaked. Dawie the owner eventually offered to come out but I was traveling that evening and could not meet him. They sent a different team out again after I returned. Dawie was busy then and did not come out. Same response from Carol-the leak was not their fault. This is a R5 million project with the roof being completely redone. My integrity was questioned by an incompetent company. In addition, their accounts department misplaced my payment and I received a number of calls requesting payment. If Dawie the owner cannot value his customers, manage his sales staff, his installation team as well as his accounts department, he should not be in business.
