The content below represents my email of the 23/08/2023 to the COCT Water Department in regards a technical water related query. Subsequent to my email, I received an email indicating that I would receive a response within 7 days. In spite of phoning numerous times I have had no feedback. By introduction my name is Doug Mc Dougall and I am the body corporate chairman of an apartment Block in Fish Hoek. Our apartment block consists of 6 apartments on the ground floor and 6 apartments on the first floor. The geysers for the apartments on the first floor are housed in the roof voids above the apartment ceilings. The geysers are supported by roof trusses and mounted on drip trays that are connected to drain pipes which discharge to the outside of the building in accordance with SANS 10254: 2012. The geysers for the apartments on the ground floor are situated in kitchens, and are bolted to the kitchen walls and encased in wooden boxes which visually appear to be part of the kitchen cupboards. It is extremely difficult to comply with SANS 10254: 2012 in regards a drip tray / drain pipe for the geysers on the ground floor. My question in regards the geysers on the ground floor is as follows: When a registered plumber either issues a COCT Certificate of Approval for a newly completed / altered water installation, or a COCT Certificate of Compliance of a water installation on transfer of ownership must he ensure that a drip tray / drain pipe is installed or is this requirement not necessary and can be overlooked. Regards Doug Mc Dougall
We reside in an apartment block in Cape Town , and Metal Windows replaced our wooden windows with aluminium windows 6 years ago. The 5 year guarantee has expired and certain issues are now evident after 6 years. We contacted Metal Windows and a consultant undertook a site visit. Subsequent to the receipt of a inadequate quotation, and further correspondence with Metal Windows it appears that Metal Windows is not in business to undertake paid maintenance on their windows.
My wife and I reside in Fish Hoek Cape Town. This morning we popped into the Clicks store in Long Beach Mall. We waited in the dispensary queue of 5 people for one hour. After one hour we approached one of the pharmacists, and enquired why there were only two pharmacist and why they were taking 20 minutes per customer. The pharmacist sarcastically opened a cupboard and said that he couldn’t find a pharmacist in a cupboard. We immediately left Clicks and went to Dischem where we were served in 5 minutes. If the management of Clicks cares then they should investigate the worst pharmacy in the world, and discipline the sarcastic pharmacist. We will gladly point out the sarcastic pharmacist to the management of Clicks. Our clicks queue number was S184, regards Doug Mc Dougall
Shocking Clicks

To whom it may concern It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Yasien Jaffer at ORMS. He was knowledgeable, gave good advice and was patient. These qualities aren't often found in society today. Regards Doug Mc Dougall
