There was a discrepancy in what they promised, and what was paid for to the moving company that moved us in at the destination country, resulting in us paying excess costs of about R13000 (on top of the R26000 already paid). I had to follow up many times and ensure documents were received by them. Expect to have to do things and get information yourself, they are not very organised nor do they respond to all emails, so definitely don’t expect information once your fee is paid, and once you’re in another country. Use another company, there are so many. I chose this once because the assessor was friendly even though it was not the cheapest quote, but that did not turn out to be a reflection of quality.
Marie-Louise Basson and Odette De La Rey were excellent at securing competitive offers for me and updating me throughout the process. Really happy with their actions during the process as well as the outcome.
I currently live in The Precinct and have for a few months now. They advertise sevrices that they do not provide, and when confronted about it, they apologise but do not provide those services or any compensation in rent. The hidden costs are unimaginable. I specifically asked exactly how much I would pay, and was given a number that has since increased. I asked the right questions, questions that I would still ask any new landlord, and what I was told was incorrect. Expect to pay more than you've budgeted for and expect for no one in management to do anything about it except refer you to your lease; a lease which was signed in good faith, but rest assured that Century is not good and you cannot have faith in them. The workmanship of the apartments is horrible, and if you somehow manage to get them to agree to fix something, management expects you to take leave from work so that the repairs can be done. I have done this before and the repairs didn't take, and I still have these problems despite nothing being my fault. Not what I expect when I pay such a high price to not worry about these things. Communication with management is also very difficult and it is always an uphill battle. Again I stress that you will sign a contract assuming that Century will be reasonable or ethical, but they are not interested in the satisfaction of the residents. If you are willing to spend the money that is advertised for one of these apartments, go to a different place. The Precinct is not value for money, and management does not take responsibility for the problems that they have created for residents or attempt to make the experience better.
I ordered a package over 5 months ago. Last month there was finally some activity on the tracking facility. Despite my efforts to get information on what was going on, LuckyVitamin could not assist me. In fact, they instead invited me to look at their shipping policy to explain why they have no liability, essentially telling me that there was an option to pay for insurance and I didn't take it, so there's nothing they're willing to do. Terrible/zero service, and terrible customer interaction.
