Aspen Pharmacare is one of the few manufacturers of Codeine Phosphate which many patients with short bowel syndrome use to survive. This is the only medication that assist us with slowing down our daily output and now they have just discontinued it which means that we now have to resort to using other medication that is combined with paracetamol and this can be very harmful. Who decided the fate of myself and so many others that need this medication? They are no longer producing it and pharmacies have no alternative, except for morphine or the other meds that are mixed with other ingredients but how are we suppose to operate on morphine all day?? They obviously have no concern for the patients that are now left helpless and without an appropriate replacement and no one can answer the question why or what is the plan going forward??

I have been with Medihelp just over a year and was diagnosed last your September with Stage 3 colon cancer. I have had numerous issues and set backs but Medihelp have been absolutely awesome and covered me all the way. I have been a client of Nedbank for years now. I was recently diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and have been hospitalized for 27 days so far. Trying to sort out credit cover insurance and repayments etc. I was promised a call back by 09H00 this morning but nothing. I cannot get through to any of the client service numbers and have used already R30 airtime just holding. I am in hospital so it is very difficult. The fact that month end is coming up and I need to sort this out does not seem to be an issue to my bank. Absolutely shocking!
