I have taken out a credit card with Discovery bank in the last month with the intention to build my credit score as that was the reason I rep**** to when asked by the sales consultant. It was done telephonically and the consultant was very knowledgeable in explaining the process.. You are asked to except there terms and conditions as any other institution would ask expecting that there terms and conditions would not negatively impacted you which is generally the case... BUT with my experience I was deceived and not informed that my credit would be so ''NEGATIVELY IMPACTED'' The consultant did not inform me that doing a hard inquiry on my credit profile would cause my credit score to drop by 31 points to where I am now a high risk for credit compared to being average and getting offers from different banks etc.. I have a low chance of getting even a Truworths account currently. My credit score was 627 and now its 596 after there hard search on my profile. You see the thing is they will without your knowledge or understanding do this just to get you signed up and after my inquiry with them I was told I excepted there terms and condition believing that generally when you apply for credit your score would drop 1 to 3 points at most! But because of them not telling you that your score will be drastically affected you go ahead and sign up. My next step will be the credit ombudsman this needs to be addressed as this is deceiving and with the current situation with people struggling they exploiting the honest working class. I have been so attentive to my credit profile no debt no judgements etc a clean credit profile I just needed to have a account to further improve my score and here is where I am currently worse of after there executive department informed me they are in there rights not concerned about mine.
I use to have account with nedbank but I have to say by all means worst bank and service I received from nedbank Kenilworth centre branch at most times. I closed my account with nedbank earlier in the year and a few months later I received a sms that my account is over drawn which did not make sence to me. I contacted the bank only to find out a funural policy was loaded on my profile without my knowledge. I inquired and there is no beneficiary on this policy no 1 and the money would have gone back to the bank in the event of death. No 2 Now im being listed because my account is over drawn and im being told i have no excuse but to pay bank fees, even thou they can see the account was closed and that my salary was no longer being paid into this account.
I was subscribed to the Transunion alert for the year 2019. I have now found out that since my subscription has expired that im being debited R99.00 Each month without my authorisation to do so. I was told by a consultant at Transunion a news letter was sent to all it's subscibers asking to renew your subsription and if you dont reply you are giving them the rite to debit your account and agreeing to that. What a bunch of skelems, 8 out of 10 people today dont read a news letter emailed to them, so how many people are paying them without there knowledge. At all banks if the debit order amount is less than R100 it does not appear on you statement ''AND THEY KNOW THAT'' so they intentionally do that knowing they will catch someeone out ant that number can be in the 100 of thousands!! so if you have a subscription or if it expired please contact your bank to check what you being charged for that is under R100. It might just be them
