I have been with MTN for more than 8 years but I'm devastated by their lack of customer service and " I don't care attitude".My problem is as follows: I got a Mecer wizard laptop when i upgraded my contract online. I have called MTN numerous occasions but i only got a myriad of emails containing reference Numbers and a statement i hate so much like "query has been closed..." . I felt like the consultants i met at MTN Cresta Mall (store adjacent to a restuarant)called Simi (at least that is the name she gave me) and who ever the manager is, there were not helpful at all. They gave me a phone number and assured me that if i call that number i was going to get someone who will come to fetch my laptop for warranty assessment little did i know that i was up for a major surprise. Its been two months now and I'm of the view that i should not have been sent to call multiple places being sent from pillar to post for nothing, if MTN valued me as their customer that is. I'm frustrated and I just noticed that its a trend from MTN consultants not to help satisfactory some of us who upgraded online. When i visited the Cresta MTN i had been told that they would help from the consultant i had spoken to on the phone earlier on. It's as though it's a sin to request for help from the consultants, it's as if they were doing me a favour. No wonder why the Cresta MTN ratings are low. Perhaps they felt like they deserved to make some commission on the upgrade. So I have decided that i will stop paying my account with immediate effect until i get this matter resolved. My name is Gordon Savanhu my number is 0723989328 my email is savanhugordon@gmail.com , if i don't get any help I shall leave MTN never to deal with them ever again!!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank a young man who served me at Cresta mall Markham. He goes by the name,Sangara. He gave me his time during the Festive season, when I was shopping. Sometimes as clients we have an inclination to write negative reviews but at this instance I was happy.Generally the atmosphere at that shop is good.Thank you guys.Keep it up!!!Good Job!!!
Markham Cresta branch pathetic service. On black Friday my card ,which was too old could not be swiped the shop assistant ask me to go fetch my ID at home. I went to fetch when I came to the store to get assistance on obtaining a new one the consultant conives with the customer care consultant on the phone from the contact centre to say that I failed the security test when i was asked 3 simple questions like where i stay or if i got an account with mtn. I'm sure because they were about to close shop for the day .(their closing time is 7pm on fridays I was there by 6.30pm).They decided not to help me on the basis that I have a Zim passport. The behaviour displayed was xenophobic and unprofessional especially considering that its customers who make them have a job.
I went to this Consumer electronics shop in Cresta Mall it is called by the above mentioned name.I wanted a screen guard for my Samsung galaxy Note 8,I paid R350 for it but the quality of work they did was below standard in 3days the screen guard was coming off. I went back they put a second one which was not properly done again. In 2days it was showing signs of it not being properly applied.I dont have the time nor the desire to go back there again.I dont want them thinking I'm a problematic customer. To those who want their phones protected try Gudget Candy kiosks within the malls they are much better. You will get value for your money. I LOST MY MONEY FOR PATHETIC SERVICE.
It is with a heavy heart that I noticed that MTN is overcharging me on my contract.I up-graded my contract to get 40gb data monthly which just vanishes quickly. My question is How is it that when I was given 20gb promotional data for the first month on new cell phone contract,I would not be able to finish that data? Now I have twice the amount of data to cover me day and night it just disappears.Anyway my main problem with them is that I took a contract which would cost me around R200 but for the past 3 or so months they pushed my fees to 300 because my upgrade was a downgrade, meaning I had been paying R350+ approximately in my previous contract, now I took a deal for less when my upgrade was due.I tried calling their customer care but I never got the help I needed. It would be very unlikely for me to recommend this network to anyone.People beware we are being exploited#Frustrated and agitated customer.
