This is my second review because Sizwe Hosmed clearly has no intention of improving. My C-section claim has been rejected repeatedly with no explanation whatsoever. Not a single valid reason. No transparency. No accountability. Just automatic rejections while I’m left chasing answers after a major surgical procedure. Trying to contact Sizwe Hosmed is an absolute joke. Their call centre agents are rude, unprofessional, and abruptly cut calls instead of assisting. Emails go unanswered, phones go unanswered, and follow-ups are completely ignored. This is not inefficiency — this is gross negligence. I was contacted by Mbali Ludidi from 3Sixty Health, who claimed the matter was “resubmitted.” Since then, there has been dead silence. I have repeatedly tried to follow up and cannot get through to anyone. No feedback. No updates. No sense of urgency. What makes this even more disgusting is that this involves a C-section claim — a medically necessary procedure — yet members are treated with complete disregard and zero empathy. The stress, frustration, and emotional toll this causes during an already vulnerable time is unacceptable. Sizwe Hosmed takes members’ money every month but fails spectacularly when it’s time to pay legitimate claims. This level of service is shameful, ***********, and cruel. I would strongly warn anyone considering this medical aid to think twice. If you value basic human decency, communication, and reliability, avoid Sizwe Hosmed at all costs.

They informed my doctor that the claim was rejected but claim they are “unable to give a reason” — which is both shocking and unacceptable. They do not answer their phones, ignore emails, and make it virtually impossible to speak to a competent human being. At a time when I was dealing with a medical emergency and the birth of my child, this medical aid added unnecessary stress, anxiety, and financial pressure. The level of service is pathetic, especially considering they have recently been under investigation, which now makes complete sense. If this is how they treat members during life-threatening emergencies, I shudder to think how they handle anything else. This is not just poor service, it’s irresponsible and inhumane. I would strongly warn anyone considering joining this medical aid to think twice. When you need them most, they disappear, refuse to communicate, and leave you stranded with medical bills they should be covering. I would never recommend this medical aid to anyone.
PPS has shown me, in the most painful and ********* way, that their so-called Critical Illness Cover is nothing more than a money-making ****. They are quick to take your premiums every single month, but when you need them the most — when you actually claim — they will dig for every excuse to avoid paying. My experience has been nothing short of traumatic. After submitting a legitimate claim, I was met with months of stalling, endless back-and-forths, and demands for medical records that were completely irrelevant to the claim. They went as far as requesting deeply personal history that had absolutely nothing to do with my policy — crossing the line both ethically and professionally. Despite multiple doctors submitting their expert reports and explaining my condition in detail, PPS decided to ignore medical professionals and rather try to build a case based on old, unrelated information. And after all of that? They had the audacity to retroactively cancel my policy, claiming they would have never approved it in the first place — only after I had submitted my claim and after months of silence. If this is not a clear example of bad faith insurance, I don’t know what is. This is how PPS operates: • Take your money for months or years. • Deny your claim when you need them. • Blame you for not disclosing things that are irrelevant or had no bearing on the claim. • Then cancel your policy as if it never existed. They pretend to be “for professionals,” but no professional should be treated this way. Their process lacks compassion, integrity, transparency, and fairness. This is not a company you can trust in your time of need — in fact, they will add to your stress and suffering. I am escalating this to the Ombudsman and will not stop until this matter is properly addressed. PPS must be held accountable for the way they treat their members. This entire experience has been manipulative, *********, and emotionally damaging. If you are considering Critical Illness Cover with PPS — RUN. This is not protection. It’s a trap. I’ve seen many reviews about the unprofessional service they give, but chose to ignore it and take up the policy with them. They are a total **** and should not be trusted at all.
I took out my policy with PPS because of the reputation I believed the company had and its commitment to serving professionals. As a professional myself, I expected a level of fairness and efficiency, but my experience has been deeply disappointing. My claim for Critical Illness Cover for Rheumatoid Arthritis was unfairly declined despite extensive medical evidence from multiple specialists, including detailed reports. I comp**** with every request for additional documentation, yet the process was riddled with delays and demands for evidence. Despite this, the claim was ultimately denied on technical grounds, disregarding clear evidence of my condition. The entire process caused significant stress and left me feeling unsupported by a company I trusted during a difficult time. I have disputed it, but I know these insurance companies tries everything in their power to decline valid claims, despite having the evidence. I cannot recommend PPS to anyone and would advise against relying on them for critical illness support. I am extremely disillusioned by their lack of compassion and inefficiency.
I cannot thank the team at Life Westville Hospital enough for the incredible care they provided to my mum (R Anamala) during her recent hospitalization. From the moment she was admitted, the staff showed unparalleled compassion and professionalism, not only towards her as a patient but also towards us as her family. Dr. Duze, her cardiologist, was outstanding. He explained everything thoroughly, from her angiogram to the decision for a bypass, and reassured us every step of the way. His kindness and ability to make us feel informed and comfortable were truly remarkable. Her cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. K. Ncgobo, was equally amazing. His passion and dedication shone through in the way he addressed all our fears, taking the time to explain the procedure and ensuring we felt reassured during such a stressful time. The CCU and High Care nurses have been phenomenal. Their loving and attentive care has not only helped my mum recover beautifully but also given her the emotional support she needed. They kept us updated throughout, and their warmth made a world of difference. The entire team at Life Westville Hospital is truly God-sent. Their dedication, affection, and commitment to their patients and families are beyond exceptional. We are forever grateful for the outstanding care they provided to my mum and the support they extended to us. Thank you for everything!
The absolute worst, disgusting company I’ve ever seen. From purchasing the order, to them losing track of my money, to finally delivering the couches I purchased. Only to realise it was the wrong set and they missed the piece. I’m absolutely frustrated and disgusting with this company. For it to be known as a reputable big company only to get the worst service. I will not recommend this company to anyone. I should’ve actually followed the reviews and not purchased from this place.
I purchased 3 recliner suite in March, paid R15k for it. After couple weeks, it started sinking. I sent it for repairs, it came back with the colour coming out, sent it back and got it fixed. After 2 weeks, it started to sink again. They sent an inspector here, he told us completely different things to what he told them. He said to them there is nothing wrong with it. Despite countless complaints and calls, they refused to take action. They are pathetic. They are not helpful and their service is terrible and they just rob people.
