Paid for a month whilst travelling. They signed me up on debit order without me knowing (you sign something on the little machine, capitec card has account number on it) and now a year and R7000 later "Sorry there's nothing we can do". Sure there isn't guys. Nothing at all you can do. I do not even live in Joburg, total BS. Also the free weights there are lying around in a compete mess.
Once I enjoyed this place. Now it's so, so bad, but ALSO they took our money, allocated our booking unilaterally at short notice to a time nobody could make AND THE SLOPE WASN'T EVEN OPEN, then were completely uncontactable via phone or email, and THEN they say "there's nothing we can do". AVOID.
Have had several good experiences with lift, and am mostly happy. One thing to watch out for is that the wallet system, which is a big part of their "flexibility", is a ****py voucher scheme designed to take your money. You can only buy R1000 increments and cannot combine payment types, expires after 12 months, etc. Wish this would be solved as it is obviously predatory. Otherwise (even considering yesterday's 2 hour technical delay) Lift is generally better than the others ITO booking simplicity (fewer other hidden costs) and onboard service.
Dan tried every possible way to get unsecure payment for a domain name, then reneged and refunded secure payment and demanded more. A horrid person and a giant waste of time even if you don't get scammed. Really lives up to domain squatters' reputation.
What an awful person to deal with. Dan pushed super hard for insecure payment, inflated the amount on the invoice then reneged AFTER receiving secure payment OF THE INFLATED AMOUNT, wasting a huge amount of time, energy and international transfer fees. Thanks Dan.
