We have renewed two of our contracts with Vodacom at the Eastgate branch on March 9th 2024. Both on the VIP RED package, which means we pay a very high premium monthly. Both contracts came with the option to add either a tablet or a Samsung Galaxy 6 watch (of course at an extra cost. Which were offered to us in either silver or black) On the one contract we took a tablet and on the other a Samsung Galaxy Classic 6 watch. We wanted this watch in silver and after we have signed the contract were told that they did not have a silver watch in stock and would have to order this. We accepted. I went to the store on March 13th, (they still did not have the watch in silver) , were given the sales lady's cell phone number and had to communicate via WA. Needless to say that we had sent many WA's to and fro with no results. I found it necessary to complain on social media (FB) on April 27, 2024 ( 6 weeks later...6 weeks of being patient) and got Vodacom Customer Care to reply via direct message on FB. One of their representatives, named Ashleigh had phoned several times, following up and trying to resolve the matter, but the manager of Vodacom Eastgate just did not bother to honour the contract and just supply us with the purchased watch in silver, which we had ordered. He insisted ( with many different excuses and stories) first that the watch only comes in black, then that they only can receive black watches and then that the watch will not suit me, as the client!!!!! WHAT UTTER *******!!!! I do not know this manager from a bar of soap!!!! I have received a call from Ashleigh from Vodacom Customer Care again this afternoon, saying that we have reached a cul de sac with this matter and that I have to say what will be acceptable by us. (Take note that this particular watch is in stock at the Samsung Store Eastgate, which is literally across from the Vodacom Shop.....) I told him that the only acceptable thing will be for Vodacom Eastgate to let us cancel the contract on the watch, WITHOUT VODACOM PENALLISING US FOR THEM NOT BEING ABLE TO HONOUR A CONTRACT, AND WE NEED TO BE CREDITED FOR THE MONEY ALREADY PAID TOWARDS THIS WATCH. AND I WANT IT IN WRITING AS I DO NOT TRUST VODACOM EASTGATE AT ALL. Please all, learn from our experience and bypass Vodacom Eastgate. Rather go to a trustworthy Vodacom Shop at any other location. They sell you their batteries with a 10 yr warranty... they can not be trusted to honour their warranties. We have bought 6 batteries from them. First 4 work just fine, but the 2 new batteries take forever to charge and discharge much quicker than the older ones. We addressed this with them and their head of technical support refuses to take any accountability and blames the installer. The installer had provided them with proof of the correct wiring used and correct installation, etc. Solar MD can't provide plausible answers to data presented to them regarding the faulty batteries, but rather respond with analagies. When we, as the client, want to put their analagy to test, i.e. install a new battery to test their analagy, they are quick to respond and advise that the batteries are not faulty (without in depth testing) and won't honour a warranty claim. So the client has no say and no right. Do not support this company as they are not honourable.
Not worthwhile using this company. Their couriers are good but their admin personel are pathetic. It takes forever to get the job done, rather make use of Postnet. You might pay a bit more, but you save a lot of time and get helped in a friendly, efficient and professional manner.
On Feb. 1st 2020 we paid about R1200 for 8 tickets in the imax theatre Eastgate, Bedfordview, South Africa WHERE WE GOT ROBBED IN THE BACK ROW OF THE THEATRE!! STER KINEKOR IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM IN THEIR THEATRES YET THEY DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO PROTECT THEIR CLIENTS. THE CINEMA AND MOST OF THEIR THEATRES ARE DARK AND DIRTY. NO CAMERAS IN THEATRES EITHER. WHY NOT??? IT IS EASY SO SNEAK INTO ANY OF THEIR THEATRES, THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE THE WORST OF THE WORSE. AND NO COMPLAINTS LODGED WITH THE MANAGER EVER GETS ATTENTION. TIME FOR "STER KINEKOR MUST FALL!'" WILL BOIKOTT THEM AS FAR AS I GO AND AS LONG AS I SHAL LIVE.
On 1st Feb 2020 my phone was stolen in the imax theatre Eastgate mall, Bedfordview. I went into Vodacom shop immediately after noticing this and had my number blocked and phone blacklisted. The guy who "helped" me, assured me that this was done...BUT did not give me any confirmation number. I received proof from a friend that she had received obscure messages from me after 5pm on Saterday...I had been in the shop before 3 that afternoon! only after being to the police station to report the theft and get a case number, I was informed by the policeman that I needed a ITC number from Vodacom. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN HELPED WITH THIS AND PROVIDED WITH THE NECESSARY NUMBERS TO START OFF WITH! I HAD TO GO BACK TO THE SAME SHOP AND WAS HELPED BY TERCIA THIS TIME. TERCIA WAS BRILLIANT AND SUFFICIENT, UNLIKE THE MALE EMPLOYEE. TERCIA DESERVES A 10/10 AND THE MAN 0/10.
