I ordered shoes online from Aldo Shoes on the 14th of November 2025. After some days if no delivery, a representative sent me an email telling me that the Shoes I had ordered (size 6) were out of stock and I needed to choose one of three options. I opted for a refunded. It took a long time for any action to happen despite emailing and calling the shop. Eventually, Fiona Mamabolo sent me a message on 13 December 2025 saying their finance department was processing my refund. I received proof of payment (POP) for the amount I had paid on 17 December 2025. However, that amount has not yet reflected in my account to date (17 January 2026) a month later. I sent various emails to Fiona which she simply ignored. When I eventually managed to get hold of her on 14 January 2026 her telephonically, she gave the same excuse about it being a Finance Department matter and she would follow up with them. I continue waiting for the refund as I write this painful review. I am so disappointed with the sluggish manner in which Aldo Shoes handles such matters. They seem not to care at all. What is most painful is that, I have 98% of my shoes from Aldo and I did not expect such poor business practice for a shop I respect so much. I cannot understand why Aldo s unable to process refunds like any other well established online businesses that simply reverse the payment under similar circumstances. Why are you so quick to collect our monies even when you have no stock but make it difficult to get our refunds arising from your system errors? I am so disappointed with Aldo Shoes and would like everyone to be very cautious when dealing with them. Especially, if it is an online transaction. You will sweat for your refund should anything go wrong. I will assure you, Fiona Mamabolo will treat you as if you are asking Aldo for a donation when it is actually your money that is supposed to be refunded to you. I believe there are many who have also had to suffer from such gross customer ill treatment. We deserve better treatment, Aldo. Just a little respect will be highly appreciated please. I had a wonderful moment speaking to K****tso Modiba when I wanted to cancel my insurance because I had found a cheaper deal. She was so professional and realistic. We discussed many things and she was ready to listen and advise accordingly. Hers was not just a ploy to retain me but to ensure that I am well covered and that I had made all necessary considerations before finalising the move. Although I could not remain with Discovery Insure, I definitely appreciate their service through K****tso.
I bought a side by side fridge from Mr Shopper on 17 November 2020 for about R15 000 and delivery was promised by the 23rd of November 2020. The delivery never took place yet the tracker kept saying the item is being in transit. I tried calling the online store but could and it was a mission just to get through. When I eventually got through, I was told that the item had bought was big and no courier was willing to deliver it. They them promised to make the delivery after a week. The week ended and no delivery was made. I tried calling the shop but I couldn't get through. Each time it was my chance, I was told that the representative at the extension was unavailable. It response kept repeating itself until I decided to stop calling. After a few days, I called and spoke to a guy called Archi. He told me that I had bought an expensive item and it was not easy to deliver it. However, on the system it said Brian was handling my matter. He promised me that I will receive a call from him. Four days lapsed without receiving a call from Brian. When I eventually called them back I spoke to Archi and I just had to request a refund despite more than a month of inconvenience. I was promised a refund on the 21st of December and I was told with 6 days it would have reflected in my account and I will receive an email from them regarding the refund. Until today (30 December 2020) nothing has happened. I called them again today to follow up. I eventually received an email telling me that my refund is being processed. I want to warn everyone to stay away from Mr Shopper. That shop is actually Mr Pain or Mr Stress because that is what they will give you. It is better to buy from other more professional shops rather than shop which to me is more of a scam than anything. I am disappointed with this shop to the end. I had to write this review to warn other incorrect and online shoppers out there. Please do not only consider price when buying online, the shop's professionalism also matters a lot and should never be discounted in any way.
Solly Mphela gave me excellent service when I was claiming from Discovery Insure. The claim was processed efficiently and it did not create a hassle on my part. Thank you Discovery for such a wonderful claim process.
