My wife and I attended a promotion for the so-called Apex Travel Club at the Casterbridge Hollow Boutique Hotel in White River in January this year. A large number of people, such as us, had been invited to attend this promotion. The function was hosted by Roche, the Hotel Manager and various, we supposed, personnel from this Travel Club. It would appear that we (and probably others) were conned? We paid over R8 000.00 to 'become members' of the Apex Travel Club. We were helped by someone called Corrie who, supposedly, was there to help us with our application to join the club. This was in January 2025. We contacted Corrie, via Whatsapp, on several occasions during February and March, trying to get bookings for two establishments in Mpumalanga. To no avail - Corrie failed to make either booking for us. We also discovered that this Club was able to deduct payments from our bank account. We are very keen to find out if the Apex Travel Club is a legitimate company and what further steps we can take to try and recover our money.
<div>We recently spent two nights at Greystone Lodge, which is on the Elandsfontein Road, some thirteen kilometres from the turning on the Belfast/Dullstroom road in Mpumalanga. We stayed in a very comfortable one-bedroom cottage, which is located in spacious, fenced grounds, as are all the cottages. The establishment is pet-friendly, hence the fenced accommodation! The cottage is very well-equipped and comes with an inviting fireplace for chillier nights. There is ample space for walks with your dogs. A large herd of blesbok can be seen, as well as a smaller number of fallow deer. The lodge has a large dam, ideal for trout fishing. The lodge also boasts a restaurant, an inviting library, as well as plenty of chairs in which to lounge! Ildikó Hegyi and her husband are your hosts and are the ideal people to look after your needs and comfort at Greystone Lodge, which come highly recommended.</div>
Mackers is an Africamps glamping establishment, located some 17 kilometres from Hazyview on the road to Sabi, in Mpumalanga. Cottages and luxury tents are available for those who do not want to 'slum it!' We stayed in one of the 10 tents that are located alongside the Sabi River. The area is peaceful and full of bird life and even a few small mammals. The tents are well equipped and comfortable and overlook the bubbling river. The camp is surrounded by indigenous forests. An unusual feature is an honesty shop which provides a good variety of groceries. This establishment is well worth a visit!
I see my problem is not a new one; customers complained about the issue of a loss, in my case, of 2GB of data, for the reason given below. My data loss was on about the 29th of May 2020. I had purchased 2GB of data on the 28th only to find I had had lost 2GB which was shown as Secure Encrypted login. I have no idea what this is and no-one at Vodacom in iLanga mall know what it is. I am a self-employed pensioner and simply cannot afford to lose data like this. It may well seem to be small loss, but I only get 30GB a month.
