Africamps spoil holiday due to incompetence and over booking
This is truly disappointing. If not utterly disgraceful. Africamps Hex River Valley summarily cancels a New Years booking for three families. This despite the booking being fully paid up and confirmed on 23 January 2025. What is really shocking is the flippancy of the official who told the people less than 24 hours prior to booking in that the booking had been cancelled, blaming bookings.com However, on inquiry bookings.com said the booking had been cancelled by Africamps and not them! Disgusting. And even more disgusting no solutions offered.

Disappointing for a Luxury Clamping stay at Africamp Kambati
We booked a weekend at Africamp Kambati in Swellendam for our 35th anniversary. This was very disappointing. The towels old and torn, no matches or fire liters - Even the coffy/sugar - minimal. Place really need maintenance! We stayed 4 nights for total R6605 - way to expensive for what we got! This was supposed to be luxury Clamping experience! but far from it!

Manager Andrea unwilling to assist with a COVID booking change.
Hi I am very disappointed with the service I am receiving from Africamps. My Wife is a frontline worker and has come into contact with a COVID positive patient. We called Africamps to change the date of our booking because according to regulations we need to isolate. We were told that because its less than 7 days before the booking they cannot amend the dates for us. I mean during this time that we are in, if businesses cannot be accommodating especially to frontline workers then I wouldn't recommend this establishment for anything. We don't want to cancel our booking nor do we want a refund, we just merely want to change the date of the booking. How must we know 7 days in advance if my wife will be in contact with a COVID positive patient. The manager Andrea is very adamant that rules are rules and wouldn't accommodate us in the least.

Racist owner that threatened us
I am very saddened by the experience I had at this accommodation, I would like to plead to all people of color/ black people that if you by any chance book this place please try and protect yourself. The owner is very racist and disrespectful ,he cut us off the road while we were going out to get food. He threatened to kick us out of ‘his property’ in the middle of the night . We were very startled and uncomfortable, which is not a great feeling especially if you’ve paid for a service. The place is beautiful but the owner is unwelcoming I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AFRICAMPS at Hoedspruit and would never go back

Glamping near Hazyview
Mackers is an Africamps glamping establishment, located some 17 kilometres from Hazyview on the road to Sabi, in Mpumalanga. Cottages and luxury tents are available for those who do not want to 'slum it!' We stayed in one of the 10 tents that are located alongside the Sabi River. The area is peaceful and full of bird life and even a few small mammals. The tents are well equipped and comfortable and overlook the bubbling river. The camp is surrounded by indigenous forests. An unusual feature is an honesty shop which provides a good variety of groceries. This establishment is well worth a visit!

IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD'VE, FIRSTLY THE SERVICE WAS EXCEPTIONALLY POOR! SECONDLY THEY CHARGE YOU FOR EVERY LITTLE THING AND THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEM COMES IN, THEY CHARGE YOU TO FILL THE HOT TUB, THEN THEY FILL IT WILL FILTHY UNHEALTHY AND FULL OF BACTERIA DAM WATER, WHICH MAKES YOU SICK!!!!!!!!! ME AND 4 OTHER PEOPLE WENT AND ALL OF US GOT SICK OF THE JACUZZI FILTHY WATER JUST BY SITTING IN IT! THIS PLACE SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM AFRICAMPS AS THEY ARE A THREAD TO HUMAN KIND, NEVER WILL I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!
