Worst Service. Made me pay in advance on quotation to order parts. They indicated parts will arrive in two working days however after I enquired they indicated it will now be 5 working days which put me in a difficult spot as my phone was acting up. Will not recommend this company, poor service and attitude towards clients.
The company promises a lot but delivers very little. Owner is a young boy with no business experience. They promise that he will guarantee 95% occupancy however the guarantee means very little in terms of return on investment. This is easily achievable with a low rental price on the property and is not a differentiating competitive advantage in terms of a property management company, if it is at the expense of the landlords ROI. The companies main focus is to achieve their status on Airbnb and not to look after the property or the landlords return on investment and best interest. They will recommend that the landlord use Airbnb photographers to "boost the algorithms" on Airbnb, this is a false statement and does not boost your properties search results. a Airbnb photographer cost me R3300 although I said do not do this as we got our own professional photographer, Elite accommodation will simply deduct this from the landlords earnings. The company will not seek the landlords approval and they make decisions in isolation and the landlord will just fit the bill. the tail cannot wag the dog... The Cleaning they do is not up to standard and the owner and his property manager which is suppose to be dealing with operations will never be on site to ensure the property is guest ready. Fortunately we managed to inspect the property and we were terrified when we discover how the property was left for a guest. The cleaner did not even have cleaning materials to clean. We had to step in and ensure the place was cleaned however they take 20% of the income. The monthly statement received in terms of expenses and rental income is not sufficient so you will not have a proper audit trail of earnings and expenses for accounting purposes. The owner of the company is also not willing to take action to ensure operationally the property is well maintained and looked after and indicated he is more on the backend of the business. Again this is not why I appointed them as the property management agent. My advise to landlords is stay clear, you will lose money and be left feeling very frustrated.
WARNING!!! People, if you know what is good for you, don't sign a contract with this company. It's like signing a contract with the devil and you won't get out of it unless you pay them more money. They are the most unethical and in my view criminal company I have ever come across. This company I have paid over R40 000 and just had enough of their poor service and complete misleading marketing. We never find accommodation which we request and end up going directly to resorts and not making use of their services as we can simply get what we want for cheaper or the resorts or holiday destinations will tell you they won't deal with VHI. Owing to the fact that the majority of the resort outright refuse to work with them your options in South Africa are very limited. The R40K I spent was a complete waste of money. The biggest mistake of my life. They conveniently put a percentage saving on the website which looks impressive at first. You come to realise the reason they put a percentage is because you cannot verify a percentage saving however if they had put a price on the site you would quit easily have seen their prices aren't as good as it appears and in my experience it was more than what you can get for accommodation directly. You will initially be sold on the % saving they impress you with. This is so misleading. I asked them to indicate how they come to the saving. I am an accountant by profession and let me tell you I could not work it out. The reason they didn't come back to me is because they can't tell you how it was calculated and it is an outright lie. Once you give notice of termination they will force you to pay 50% of the contract value. I refused as you don't get a service for this fee. Why do I then need to pay them anything else? The analogy they use to explain the cancellation fee is that it is the same as a cell phone contract. Not sure what world they live it is not the same!!! Why? With a cell phone contract you get the cell phone and cancellation fees are completely reasonable and understandable because it is actually a lease until the device is paid off. To top it off the person who corresponded with me regarding the cancellation by the name of Felicia Solomons where the most arrogant person I have dealt with. She dares me to go legal!! I have written to them disputing the fees and they don't give me answers for valid questions. The last quote we received from them they actually charge you a booking fee of R500 for a booking which takes us no longer than a couple of minutes. What am I missing? I paid you R40K over the last year and half. I requested to speak to the CEO but was ignored. He/She is not known, probably sipping away on a cool Martini whilst enjoying our hard earned money. Felicia Solomons insisted they will keep taking money from my account even through I have given notice. Her reason, I have a fixed contract. Hallo!!! I have given notice of termination. Do they even understand what that means. That means I have terminated the so called contract. This in my view is criminal and I am well within my right to terminate a fixed contract according as prescribed by the consumer protection act. These guys are all about taking your money and not at all about giving you a service for the money you pay. Please beware and DON'T SIGN A CONTRACT with these people. You will regret it for the rest of your life. My advise to others who got scammed by VHI is to contact an attorney and seek legal aid. There are a number of VHI victims who is taking legal action. My Multi Choice subscription was cancelled and for months no debit order went off. Recently I noticed that for two months a debit order was fraudulently going off on my account for Multi Choice. The amounts differed in the two months.
Cancelling a contract is near impossible with this service provider. I get sent from pillar to post for months now however when asking for my contract to review the penalty clauses I get switched to a different department however the voice prompts then indicates the number does not exist. This company is not ethical and will do everything in their power to ensure that consumers are unable to cancel contracts.
