On 3 March, I bought the Mecer 1200VA, 700W - Royal 1150K Deep Cycle Battery. This Will Supply a TV, Decoder, Router, Desktop computer + Small lights for 2 Hours. System gives around 700 Watt Hours Usable Capacity.. 350 Watt for 2 Hours, or 175 Watt for 4 Hours at Active Systems in Stellenbosch. On 4 March, after it was fully charged load shedding started and from the start the power jumped to 75% - 50% and it lasted 1h30min to reach the 50%-25% power. I did the same test on 5 March and it did the same thing. I had eyewitnesses with me who has the same type of setups. Once it did the same thing, I unplugged everything and did not use it again. I only plugged in my TV and it uses about 150 – 170watts. So clearly, what was advertised is not what I got. On the 7th March I returned the Inverter/Battery to Active Systems another +50km there and back. They told me they need to test it before any refunds can be done. Later on the day, I received an email of the testing the battery is 100% and there would be a possible handling fee. Now what really ****ed me off is that they did a test of the battery with a 100-watt usage so according to them it lasted 2h30min to get to 50%. Now what I asked for they did not do I told them to use the same watt as my TV. So clearly, as per adverti*****t, 175w will not last 4 hours. My wife phoned in 9 March regarding our refund and the person said we must wait 3 to 5 working days. So on 13 March I get a sms from my Bank and a refund was paid back but Active systems took 10.4 % handling fee. No one phoned us no one emailed us regarding the handling fee amount and we could not get hold of the owner Mr Riaan Lategan. The owner finally replied eventually and said he will exchange. After all this I just wanted the refund and never go back there. I feel like this money was stolen from me for a faulty battery.
I bought a pair of Sunglasses at Cape Gate. Unfortunately it is not what i wanted. I tried returning it today but the lady said they are damaged wich they are not. There was another pair of Black Puma and the lady said she will phone me back to get the right price. No one phoned me back. I also showed them a damaged pair of sunglasses on the shelf and the lady looked suprised and took it off. The next day i walked past the shop and the damaged glasses was back on the shelf. Very disappointed and will not recommend!
I have had the worse experience of my life with Web africa. Lets start with i was promised Internet on the 1st June. After numerous calls over the last 2 days which is over 200min of airtime. Calling up and down being agent for them. Also called Octotel to speed up the process. Guess what...A lady at webafrica did my order and sent it of to Strand for reconnection. I live in Brackenfell and its for a migration order not Reconnection. Spoke to another consultant and again it was sent off to Strand. So after 16:00 on the 2nd June octotel tells me i was connected after 14:00. No one advised me. Again had to phone web africa.. Then they tell me its pending they cant assist me... Another call to octotel who assisted me again. Excellent service from Octotel. So just after 4 i received my username and password so i was put on hold to the tech department to get connected. After 30min on hold no one answered. Im still witout internet access.
