Sipho Makahepha was helpful despite my earlier frustrations in having the additional cover added as requested earlier. Sipho went througj details quickly and clarified questions simply
Great Service. I spoke to Walton on Monday and received the pool cover by Friday. We have had some dismal service from other suppliers over the last few months so it's been refreshing to have wonderful service again. I would highly recommend Power Plastics.
I see another review on this company and suggest that others head our warning. We paid our deposit for a pool cover on 27 May, and were told the cover could take a little time, but not longer than 4 weeks. Template style excuses carried on from there - 3 June, delays on manufacture, 24 June we were told all was sorted and we would have our cover in a week (31 June) Their phones went dead on 29 June. We emailed and Aqualid claimed the whole family had flu (and had tested covid negative), which is why their phones had been off. Odd to switch a business phone off for flue. We were told they would be able to install by 14 July but would reconfirm a date. Their phones were active for a few days and then went dead again 14 July. I have sent emails and no reply. My wife has left messages no reply. We offered to take the cover and not have it installed as the installation is delayed by the flu. If they couldn't drop the cover it meant they didn't have it and we would thus want our money back. They have ignored this. Their systemic excuses lead me to believe that you will use any opportunity to delay and not deliver. If anything the riots and taxi violence will be their next excuse. We will be going the legal route to get our money back and will ensure that I warn every potential customer of Aqualid. I am tired of people taking ordinary citizens for a ride. Enough is enough.
We accepted a quote from CDC Construction (Siraaj Abrahams) in conjunction with Concept Pools (Faried Bhyat). We received some great reviews from previous customers, based on work done by Concept Pools. However we were not so lucky. Our pool installation began in February, we paid each portion in installments and by April the pool was finished. This was for a 6 x 3 meter fiberglass pool. Slow installation process aside, we also found out that the Salt Chlorinator that was meant to be installed with the pump never was. We also paid a deposit for a pool cover which we still have not received. When contacting Concept Pools they advised that the CDC bank account was frozen and Concept Pools could therefore not purchase the items to install it for us. They also could not refund us due to the frozen account. The owner of the account is apparently in hospital. However this is all a business transaction and was based on a written confirmation that the work was being done under the auspices of Concept Pools. The fact that the other bank account is frozen is not an excuse or valid reason for the goods and work to be completed properly in the first place. R9000 is a lot of money and we have tried to get commitment as to when we will receive these items, but Concept Pools is not able to/ willing to do this. We cannot wait indefinitely in the hope that we will still get a cover or a chlorinator or our money back. We thus have to take this matter further and in the meantime I would like to make sure that other consumers are aware of this situation and can make an informed decision on their choice of pool manufacturers. https://conceptpools.co.za/
For 3 weeks, I've been trying to sort out and get our car seat discount voucher from Discovery Insure. I spent 45 minutes on the phone 3 weeks ago, the consultation said she had submitted it manually and I should receive it on Monday or Tuesday. By Wednesday when nothing received I emailed so I could get written correspondence at least. All sorts of run arounds - send screen shots of error (there is no error - just no option to get voucher!!) No one can tell you how to get the voucher, no one can assist you and just give you a voucher number. I asked that they have a manager call me, no response so far. What is the point of offering all these "benefits" when it appears they cannot be used?? And 3 weeks to resolve. I also submitted my baby's vaccination for vitality points.... no response on that in over a week (email says 48 hours to respond) I'm very frustrated.
