Paid my deposit more than a month ago and now they've gone underground and unreachable. I used them based on recommendation but something clearly changed. I will be logging a case with SAPS later in the week around this so if anyone else have also logged a case please let me know so that it can be linked to the same case.

Not even 1 star! THIS IS A SCAM! We paid for a pool cover in May, full price, it's almost end of July and they have stopped answering their 1 business phone number that they have. They have a million excuses why they can't deliver. We asked for our money back, no response. I have sympathy for those going through a hard time due to covid, manufacturers' delays in supplies etc, but if you can't deliver as promised you should refund the customer! Switching off your business number and ignoring emails is unethical. It seems like a complete scam at this point, especially since there are numerous people complaining about them now.

Communication before payment was prompt. Felt really professional. Spoke to Anina over the phone and she was very friendly and helpful with the quote. A guy named Nico came to my house and took the measurements of my pool. They sent me a revised quote which I paid on the 50% deposit on 3 June 2021. The estimated time from payment to installation was 10 to 20 days. On 11 June I asked for a update and Anina replied that everything is still on track and that the cover should be ready for installation by the end of the next week. On the 16th of June I got a long message explaining that the machine at the factory broke and that there would be a delay. 24th of June I got a update that the machine was fixed and that they would confirm shortly when they will do the installation. 13 July I got a message that they had flu and would install once they were recovered. Their phone is off, no way of communicating with them. Beware of this, they take your money and keep you on a line. Hope its not a scam but it seems that it is because im not the only one complaining about this.

I see another review on this company and suggest that others head our warning. We paid our deposit for a pool cover on 27 May, and were told the cover could take a little time, but not longer than 4 weeks. Template style excuses carried on from there - 3 June, delays on manufacture, 24 June we were told all was sorted and we would have our cover in a week (31 June) Their phones went dead on 29 June. We emailed and Aqualid claimed the whole family had flu (and had tested covid negative), which is why their phones had been off. Odd to switch a business phone off for flue. We were told they would be able to install by 14 July but would reconfirm a date. Their phones were active for a few days and then went dead again 14 July. I have sent emails and no reply. My wife has left messages no reply. We offered to take the cover and not have it installed as the installation is delayed by the flu. If they couldn't drop the cover it meant they didn't have it and we would thus want our money back. They have ignored this. Their systemic excuses lead me to believe that you will use any opportunity to delay and not deliver. If anything the riots and taxi violence will be their next excuse. We will be going the legal route to get our money back and will ensure that I warn every potential customer of Aqualid. I am tired of people taking ordinary citizens for a ride. Enough is enough.

Aqualid Po ol Covers / Redion Holdings/ N Basson from Oakdale, Bellville quoted me for a pool cover to be fitted within a week. I paid the 50% deposit on the 29th May 2021. Ran away with R5000 deposit and unlisted their phone numbers. Capitec Audit shows that funds were utilized via ATM so there’s no way of getting any money back.
