Student loan changes I recently tried to apply for a top up amount on a existing student loan for my sister. When the loan department called me to process the loan, they told me that they could not do a top-up and that I must apply for a new loan. Could not give me a better reason than "The system doesn't allow a top-up". Very confused I tried to contact my Private Banker to ask what was going on. The explanation being that there was a rule changes November 2021 regarding student loan lending. How was I supposed to know that?? Key changes : 1. Existing account goes on as is but need to open a new account with a new interest rate, startup fees and insurance costs. 2. The new loan amount only interest is payable for the first 12 months, thereafter, capital and interest is payable. Now the second rule I really don't understand. How is it expected of a student in a 4 year course to start paying capital from the second year of studies. I'm am quite happy to pay the interest for the duration of her studies, but to start paying back capital during studies is a new one. I have made an complaint on FNB`s website, to which someone called me, told me this is the new rules and apologized. They will see if they can do something about it next year. My concerns was also discussed in detail with my private banker. My sentiments was noted is the best I got. This is the 3rd year I am applying for money on the student loan and each year the whole process has raised my blood pressure. The incompetence of the loan department is shocking! I now see no other way than to apply for a student loan at another bank and consequently moving all my other products with. Even if it comes with a cost, the manner of this situation has left a sour taste in my mouth. Communication before payment was prompt. Felt really professional. Spoke to Anina over the phone and she was very friendly and helpful with the quote. A guy named Nico came to my house and took the measurements of my pool. They sent me a revised quote which I paid on the 50% deposit on 3 June 2021. The estimated time from payment to installation was 10 to 20 days. On 11 June I asked for a update and Anina replied that everything is still on track and that the cover should be ready for installation by the end of the next week. On the 16th of June I got a long message explaining that the machine at the factory broke and that there would be a delay. 24th of June I got a update that the machine was fixed and that they would confirm shortly when they will do the installation. 13 July I got a message that they had flu and would install once they were recovered. Their phone is off, no way of communicating with them. Beware of this, they take your money and keep you on a line. Hope its not a scam but it seems that it is because im not the only one complaining about this.
Good day<br> <br> My wife had to upgrade at the beginning of April. We went to Cell C Tyger Valley in the second week to do the upgrade. Of course there wasnt any stock of the Huawei G7. They told us they would have stock in a week. I called after a week, no stock. After three weeks eventually they had stock when I called. They did not notify me.<br> I went to pick up the phone this saturday but then they could not find the paper work. It was GONE!!! Sorry sir but your wife has to come back to do the paper work. I told them that I was not going to come back. So I filled in the paper work. Then suddenly the deal was R110 more. The Huawei G7`s price had gone up in the three weeks I had to wait. Anthony who was helping me said that there was nothing he could do and that I had to pay more for the deal. I told him that I could not accept that because they threw away my paper work three weeks ago. I asked for the Manager. I explained it to Lee. After waiting another 20 minutes he confirmed that he would give me the deal on the old price but my wife would have to come back to do all paper work.<br> <br> We came back later to do the paper work. I had to wait till monday. Still no notification. <br>
