I went to the lion park with my entire family - folks (both senior citizens), kids, siblings and husbands, for a game drive to celebrate one of the kid’s birthdays. We were all excited for the kids to see the lion feed, which we missed because we had a tour guide (if I must call her that) called Princess who lambasted my entire family as soon as the tour started for talking on the bus. She had not even laid down the rules of engagement, which we were waiting for her to do. She shouted at my entire family and addressed us like we were all children, including my parents - our group consisted of snr attorneys, accountants, marketing directors, and a wits lecturer, who are all very well traveled, non-alcohol drinking and warm people. The kids were traumatized by the incident and the adults were outraged by her behavior and also genuinely concerned that she was either on drugs or suffers from bi-polar that she is clearly not treating, which is a very serious disease if untreated. We were quick to tell her to address us in a professional or adult-like manner and she called another bus to come and fetch us resulting in our kids missing the lion feed. She did not apologise even after we expressed our dissatisfaction at her outrageous behaviour and was completely unmoved by our legitimate complaints to this effect. When we changed buses, our new tour guide called JJ was brilliant - both from an interpersonal and technical level because, not only was he amazing to our group and the kids especially, but he is very knowledgeable, which further confirmed our suspicions that Princess was either high on drugs (functional drug addict) or sadly has a severe case of untreated bi-polar. She should not be people facing at all, especially where kids are involved, because she ruins an otherwise incredible South African experience for normal happy South Africans. Our 6 year old remarked afterwards that Princess treated us like garbage and that broke everyone's heart. My folks, who are both very old, wanted to go home as soon as the game drive was finished, not even wanting to go play with the lion cubs, because they could not believe that they had been addressed in such a manner and they were quite shaken by the incident. The lion park must fire that woman because the other rangers there are excellent and she brings the whole lot down, which is very unfortunate. To say she has a poor attitude is an understatement. She is clearly not well in the head.
I am insured by PPS, which is underwritten by Hollard. One of the items insured is my mobile iphone. PPS and Hollard have been merrily debitting money from my account for this insrued iphone for months. My iphone was recently stolen and I reported it to my iphone service provider, which blocked the phone and gave me an ITC no. I also opened a criminal case with the police for the stolen iphone, which required an IMEI/MEID number for the phone, which is the iphone's identity number with Apple, the item that is insured. I submitted the ITC no and case no. to Hollard and they refuse to process my claim in the absence of a contract from my iphone service provider because they require proof of the existence of a contract with iphone service provider - note: the insured item is a phone and not a contract with the iphone service provider. How would I have an ITC no. if I did not have a contract? How would I have opened a criminal case in the absence of an IMEI/MEID & ITC no. if I did not have a contract? Why did Hollard not request this proof right at the ouset of issuing the contract to me. This rule is incongruous. If there was no contract, then they should reimburse all the premiums.
I have been a customer of BMW Sandton Auto for several years and I took my car, which is still under warranty, in for repairs on Wednesday, 13 May 2015. I was informed by the consultant that it will take two days to repair my car. I was neither offered a courtesy car nor a lift from the office to home, in fact BMW did not care to know anything about this. When I enquired about getting a lift home from the office, the consultant pulled a face and I had to infer that it meant the dealership could not arange a lift for me. I then enquired about getting a courtesy car and I was told that my car does not qualify for a courtesy car because their policy states that clients only qualify for courtesy cars if their cars are within the first 2 years of the vehicle's life and warranty period. Mine is still under warranty but falls outside the first 2 years of its warranty. Therefore I did not qualify for a courtesy car. I wish I had known this at the time of purchasing my vehicle because I would have decided otherwise because this is a non-sensical and discriminatory policy. I had to pay money to get a private taxi to take me home and bring me to work in the morning. Bad after sale service!
