Medtronics -to be avoided at all cost
One of the main reasons I went with Medtronics for an insulin pump was their Carelink function whereby a third party can monitor one’s vital statistics and be able to know when a diabetic needs assistance, eg. Eru high or low sugar levels. HOWEVER this “feature” very seldom features. We have on many occasions brought the fact that my husband’s link just disappears, to Medtronics’ attention. There are many excuses but the problem persists. So, no peace of mind for clients with a life-threatning condition. To add insult to injury the casing of my pump cracked and needs to be replaced (under guarantee). I sent them 3 emails over a period of 8 days and to date have not even had the curtesy of a reply. This is rather critical since a crack could result in moisture penetrating the pump and Tendring it useless. I can add many more examples of lesser cases where Medtronics dropped the ball, but just want to warn people to stay clear of a company so poorly run that an accountant can ***** more than R500million over 13 years!

ALWYN gives awesome service.
Clicks HO is too useless to supply its branch with back up during load shedding. As a result I drove to Clicks Melkbos only to find they are closed due to the Escom debacle. However, the pharmacist, ALWYN, personally delivered my meds, in his private car, to my home. That is over and above the call of duty. Amazing, considering the lack of support from Head Office. Thank you ALWYN. You are the only reason I’m not taking my business elsewhere.

A heavenly bit of New Orleans at Eden On The Bay
A new kid on the block. No vibe since there were only three tables occupied. In all fairness, it was a Sunday night in the Hood and the other places on Eden On The Bay were not exactly buzzing either. The staff was amazing to the point of the barman making us Don Pedro’s which are NOT on the menu. They closed doors when we got cold and turned down the music volume. Very accommodating. Since this is a Louisiana eatery we all ordered Seafood Gumbo. OMG! So good. Very generous portions. According to my significant other it isn’t the thru New Orleans taste (base too “tomato-y”)but I don’t know better and thought it was awesome. If you are in the area, support them. New and unusual places need our help and trust me on the gumbo!

Blue Line for 5 star plumbing in Cape Town
They are always quick to respond - very important when one is dealing with a plumber. They fix problems fast and professionally. Their staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Will recommend them without any hesitation.

Game/Massmart steals!!!
Bought a dishwasher which packed up in warranty. Took Game three weeks to get ok from Hisense to replace, with me following up all the time. A week (SEVEN DAYS) ago their equally useless logistics partners, Laser Logistics, collected machine from my home. Since then it has simply vanished !!!! Neither Laser nor Game knows where it is or when it will be replaced. Today alone I spent around four hours on the phone and sending emails to them and Massmart. What is truly shocking is that neither Massmart HO or Game HO answers their phones. It rings for as much as 20 minutes, unanswered. I am putting it to Massmart, Game and Laser that they are thieves. Fair warning to fellow consumers: unless you are 100% sure what you buy stands no chance of ever needing fixing or replacing, avoid these skelms like the plague which they are
