Truecaller made me lose 29,60 GB due to a bug in their system. Besides that they are not prepared to compensate me for the lost data. So I am uninstalling.
Legit company, I ordered a laptop from them and it arrived 1 day earlier via DHL than they indicated.
I am very disappointed. Cell C's data bundles are priced fairly. I am using (and have before) their 200GB bundle which is valid for 1 year. I purchased the bundle on 23/01/2020 and it expires on 22/01/2021. (The 1st bundle) In August 2020 I realized that the data will not last until the expiry date. As it happened, Cell C had a promotion at the time of 50GB at a fair price, valid for 6 months, so I topped up with that bundle, with expiry date 11/02/2021. (The 2nd bundle) To my surprise I noticed in December 2020 that the 2nd bundle has been used up and I only had data of the 1st bundle left. I then paid one of their stores a visit on 19/12/2020. The lady who assisted me was very helpful, she phoned their call centre on my behalf in an attempt to change the expiry date from 22/01/2021 to 11/02/2021. (A FULL 20 DAYS) She was given a reference number. Nobody came back to me and the expiry date was not adjusted. I paid the store another visit on 02/01/2021. The gentleman who assisted me then was also very helpful, he phoned the call centre to follow up on the reference number in an attempt to resolve the issue. He was given another reference number and gave me the number of their technical department to follow them up myself if the matter was not resolved within their deadline of 2 business days. Again nobody came back to me and still the expiry date was not adjusted. Subsequently I phoned their technical department on 06/01/2021 and was advised (it being the 3rd business day) that the matter is likely to be resolved the same day and that somebody would contact me the same day. Again, nothing happened. This time I was not given a reference number. On 07/01/2021 I phoned the technical department again, but after holding the line for 10 minutes I had to abandon the call due to work pressure. Again I was not given a reference number. On 08/01/2021 I phoned the technical department again, this time I was advised to "roll over" the data, I should have airtime to enable me to do that, I replied that this particular sim is used for data only, as a hotspot for other devices, and incidentally it should not cost me anything to have the expiry date changed. My reply to that was that this is unacceptable as this situation has already cost me 2 visits to one of their stores, 2 phone calls to their technical department and all in all goodness knows how much time wasted, and I am still unable to obtain even an explanation why they cannot or do not want to help me. The lady then advised me that she will escalate the matter (after I asked to speak to somebody with authority and was not allowed this luxury). Once again I was not given a reference number. Yesterday 13/01/2021 I again phoned the technical department, gave the gentleman the 2 reference numbers mentioned above and was told that he does not pick up anything on them, but he is logging the case again for escalation. I asked for a reference number and was told they were sending same via SMS. To my surprise I did in fact receive it. This morning I received this SMS "Dear Cell C customer, please receive feedback for case no. 1011302406" After I got home after work I phoned the technical department again, again asked to speak to somebody with authority as I did not receive any satisfactory explanation from the call centre agent. I got put thru to a lady who advised me that the 2nd bundle was used first because it was a promotional bundle. By this time my blood was boiling. I wanted to ask why their personnel at the branches do not know that, but didn't. I should have. Certainly it would take somebody with the right authority and clearance less than 2 minutes to just extend the expiry date? After all, I asked for 20 days and it is doubtful that Cell C will suffer any dire consequences by doing a customer such a small favor. But no. Everything considered, I feel the least they could do was accommodate my request to extend the expiry date of my data with 20 days..... now considering the wasted time and effort as well as the frustration that I had to suffer, a "small donation" of data in compensation will help.
