One morning in March 2026 The geyser in my property burst. I hurriedly got my plumber ut to attend to the problem. As the current geyser was out of warranty a new geyser had to be installed. I chose a more expensive geyser that has a longer warranty this being of benefit not only to me but to Absa insurance company as they would have an extended time before being faced with a geyser claim again. Once the job was complete and after nearly 3 weeks I followed up and then they sent their own plumber to check if they were happy with the job done. They were 40 minutes late for their appointment. This just again confirmed to me I made the correct choice in using my plumber. On a second follow up I as them when I can expect my payment. I got sent some forms that I had to sign effectively forcing me to accept their payment I signed as I need to get reimbursed. I ask them for a breakdown as to how they received the payout amount as it was less than half what I paid. I sent emails to the claims dept and the complaints department and never received a reply. I will now consider getting Outside insurance and ceding it to the bank.
I paid my tv licence on 18/2/2016. I wanted to buy a tv online in April. This was declined as they advised that SABC would not confirm I had renewed my licence. I phoned them at least 4 times over 2 days. They don't answer their phones and after about 5/6 minutes of hearing that your call is important to them you are cut off. Then decided that sending an email would get a better response but no reply ever received I also emailed their complaints department and similarly no reply received. In desperation I bought another Tv licence through a retailer ie I now twice paid for a 2026 licence. I will not be paying next year. I can now understand why people don't bother paying Tv licences.
Just switched my pet insurance from Outsurance to Dotsure . The sales consultant Skyla Ackermann was very helpful and explained the various cover options very carefully . Good communication and hope to have a good experience when it comes to claims.
I have been trying to get tax certificates from Absa Private Bank since January 2025 Emails 17/1/2025 sent to Private Assist And copied my Banker Ronelle van Heerden. Next day they rep**** told me the charge and was I willing to pay. I queried the charge and they amended it again asking whether I was prepared to pay to which I rep**** that I was. I sent a follow up email to all parties asking when I would receive the certificates. No reply to date. On a separate issue I sent email bon 4 July to my Private Banker Ronelle van Heerden asking what was required to open a Foreign currency account. No reply.
#SupportLocal In these times where avoid large gatherings is preferential I have elected to do my top up shopping at the Friendly grocer although PnP, Checkers and Foodlovers supermarkets are close by. They are also open when most other supermarkets are closed. The prices are good, you can get anything from braai wood to daily freshly baked bread and rolls. Their meat and veggies are of high quality too. Besides the hand sanitizer that greets you there is also a coffee machine where you can get a quick caffeine fix. The Cashiers are friendly and wipe down the counter between each customer and you are in and out there in a jiffy. Your true street corner grocer.
My husband recently passed away. He was suffering from Cancer the last 10 years, He had his esophagus removed as well as a lung with many many scans, chemo sessions, blood transfusions and hospital visits as well as having the use of a Carer, Bankmed has picked up 99% of the medical bill. We we were talking medical bills that have run into the hundreds of thousands of rand. When dealing with the staff of the Bankmed oncology unit they were also very caring and empathetic with some of the staff getting to know my husband quite well. BAMKMED YOU ROCK! I am so glad you are my medical aid. I doubt there are better medical aids out there. Keep up the good work.
