I had a policy with legal wise since 2010 all my premiums were paid up with no arrears. I experience bad service from them when I requested legal service due to a builder that I had a problem with, legal wise could not help me with my case, firstly they took long to respond to my emails. When they came back to me asked for information which I supply to them and they will keep quite for a long time with no feedback until I call or write to them again requesting feedback. The builders go away with everything because legal wise could not make them account and pay for all the damages and cost I had to fixing the house they built which had a lot of faults. Until today I was not assisted the legal team at legal wise failed me. I ended up closing my policy with them. I will never recommend legal wise to anyone, they are useless.
I have been a client of standard bank for more than 8 year now. I have a home loan with them which include the building insurance. In the past 8 years I have been a client I have never submitted any claim until June 2021, I submitted a claim for a leaking roof which I received a bad service starting with answering of emails they take days to respond to emails. An assessor was sent to my house to check the leaking roof on 4th June 2021 he did everything and even take pictures of the area, the following day I received a call telling me my claim was rejected, the course of the damage is not covered in the policy. I enquire about this and wanted the report that was done by the assessor including the pictures taken but I was not given a response for days and eventual when a response was given I was given a run around service telling me I must wait for the report they need to get it from the builders, it took a week before getting back to me with the report, that was incomplete with no pictures. when I enquire about the picture I was ignored no straight answers was given and no pics were given. To my surprise I receive a call from the builders wanting to come again to my house to take pictures because standard bank indicated the previous ones taken are not clear, so they need to take more pics keep in mind the decision to reject was already made from the previous pics taken and now on the 29 June 2021 the assessor comes again for pics. So I questioned this and reason for asking for more pics these people send me from pillar to post before I could get a response that I was not happy with because they lied about them making a decision based on unclear pics, they even indicated that in the 1st appointment the assessor did not take pics even thou he confirmed and I was at home when he took pics so these people are lying to me. In the report the assessor is even the one telling me that the damages are not covered on my policy so asked how come and assessor be the one making that call. he doesn't even know what my policy covers. I have then since decided to cancel my insurance with them at a lost of all the years i have paid with no arrears or skipped payment not even once. I will not recommend standard back building insurance to anyone they are scammers taking people hard earned money and when its time to pay for claims they tell you the insurance does not cover it. I'm so disappointed in a way my case was handle and not assisted at all. It been over a month dealing with them on this, having sleepless nights over this. I'm so drained emotionally they have no idea of the damage they have done to me. I will never again insure with them. I'm even considering moving my home loan to another bank. They have benefited enough from my money not anymore. They have not proceed my cancelation yet, I'm still waiting because there is a notice of 30 days before cancellation can go through.
I would like to applaud Outsurance for their services. I did a quote from them a few days ago and when they could not beat my current premium they paid me out as promised in the advert, the consultant that assisted me was Charles Van Rooyen thank you so much to him and Lulu Mhlanga you guys were the best, keep up the good work Outsurance you have leave up to your promise. Big up.
I have a bad experience with Nation Housing in the place that I stay in they built houses on plot and plan basis. The house that they built for me has a problem in winter with fungus on the walls, the walls get dirty and dump it smells and affect our health we get sick and my kids get sick because of this. Our clothing and furniture is also affected by this, we had to throw away items that had fungus that could not come out. They built with cheap material hence this and i have reported this to them a number of time and the response was i need to open the windows to allow the air to come in the house to clear the dump and wetness in the house and this is useless because it does not help. They did not put waterproofing while building the house that is where the problem is and I'm not winning with them. I bought the house in 2013 till to day nothing has been done. I have sent them to lawyers but still nothing they deny everything and they don't want to take responsibility. I don't know what else do do now and winter is approaching we are going to go through this again. I have spent money on paint trying to solves this for years now I buy paint to paint the dirty walls over and nothing works. On top of that we are expected to pay for levies every month and yet we are not in a complex there is not gate installed and we are paying for municipal rates and nation housing is asking for levies of R495 every month and i had a problem with this and told them i could not pay because I'm struggling financial and don't believe we should be paying for levies because we are not in a complex there is no secure gates, because of that they charge me interest on my account double the amount of levies every month and i have asked them to take away the interest because my account does not go down at all because of the interest they charge and they refuse to do so. I'm paying R1000 every month but there is no difference in the account. They have handed my name over to lawyers and i have appeal my case so many times and their lawyer also change interest on the account it is a mess and a battle that I'm not winning with them. I need help i believe this is not fair and they are extorting money out of me, money i do not have. Please help me sort this out with Nation Housing. Thank you.
