Here we go again, Takealot... When I placed my order on the 1st of October, all the items were listed as AVAILABLE FOR NEXT DAY DELIVERY. So I went ahead and ordered it, because I only need it by the 5th, it indicated a delivery date of the 3rd, perfect! After the order was placed and I get the invoice on email, it suddenly showed a delivery date of 8 October! When you send them an enquiry, their response is you are welcome to cancel the order! Well, it is too late to cancel now, because it is too late to get it somewhere else!!! I can't wait for Amazon or any other company to come takeover this market and kill Takealot, we have lived long enough with bad service because they think they are untouchable.
Here we go again UPS! Worst shipping company in the world. Package was shipped weeks ago from Hong Kong. Package arrived in SA last week, received the invoice for VAT and Duties last week Thursday, paid it immediately! It is nearly a week later and my package haven't been delivered. Furthermore it is impossible to get hold of anyone at UPS. As I am typing this I have been on hold for 15minutes to speak to the agent that sent the invoice. No response on numerous emails! Don't ever use them if you can avoid it!
You would think with the threat of Amazon that Takealot would up their game, but it has gotten even worse!! I ordered stuff I needed urgently for collection in Paarl on Tuesday the 16th. The site indicated 8 in stock for delivery in 2 days, I needed 9. So I ordered the 8 in stock, I needed 6 before the weekend. I ordered one more on a separate order for delivery 5-7 days. Then I got an email my order wil be ready for collection next week Tuesday the 23rd. Nothing you do or say to anyone at support makes a difference, they don't care! Can't wait for alternative options, because this is a typical South African business story, once they get big and successful they don't care anymore.
Bull****ter of note. Needed upfront payment, postponed installation everyday for weeks! Then promised to refund the money, more than a month later and still making promises! Stay away from Darren Martyn! https://dsec.co.za
Worst company ever. No use phoning their support, they are not geared or in the mood to help you! It is like talking to a wall that can respond with Huh and that is all. That is if you can get to the wall to talk to it. You first have to wait for the virtual assistant to realise that you do not want to talk to it, then you hold on for a long time, then they answer and don't talk, you can hear them talking in the background, eventually they just hang up. Then you go through the whole process again, line cut off after eventually getting to the wall.... You go through the whole process for a third time.... to talk to the wall again.
Never use these idiots, don't buy ANYTHING from them. They sell cheap Chinese **** and will not replace or refund anything. They will treat you like **** and won't take responsibility for anything. Lawyers here we come!

Unreal, shipped an urgent parcel from China a month ago.... Been on the phone 2-days with them now after holding to talk to a consultant for 15-minutes every time.... Guess what their answer is....??? They have opened an investigation and will get back to me in 7-14 days! If I wanted it here in two months I would have used our useless Post Office, I am sure they will get it here quicker.
Worst shipping company in the world! Now being taken over by the second worst, Fedex! You can not email(they just ignore you) or call them(you get through to some chaotic place where they answer the call and leave the phone unattended, so you can listen to idiots chatting about everything but work)! Packages takes weeks to arrive and then you get the import duty invoice, pay it immediately and wait at least another 3 weeks for delivery! If I wanted to wait 4 weeks for the package I would've sent it sea freight! USELESS!!!!
