I’m incredibly disappointed with the service from Toy Kingdom, particularly the Woodlands Mall Branch. On 19 November 2024, we saw a promotion displayed in-store: two sets of Hape Building Blocks for R599.90. The sign had no validity dates, and I even took a photo as proof. The next day, when my husband returned to buy the gift for our daughter, he was told the promotion had ended and was charged R799.99 instead. Despite the Consumer Protection Act (Section 23) clearly stating customers are entitled to the displayed price unless otherwise indicated, the manager, Silvia, admitted the error but claimed the system wouldn’t allow the price adjustment. My husband had to pay the higher price to avoid disappointing our daughter on her birthday. I’ve reached out multiple times, attaching proof of the display and our invoice, but Toy Kingdom has ignored every attempt to resolve this issue. This level of customer service is completely unacceptable, and their disregard for consumer rights is shocking! Toy Kingdom, it’s time to step up and address this matter. Their Fibre is more offline than online and support is useless. You would call to report an issue only to be told that you would get feedback and then you never hear from them again. On top of that, the support staff always sounds like they know better and they do not let you as a client feel heard. I called one day because my line was down just to be told they could not help me as they were driving. How do you offer a support line if when you call they are unable to assist. I have sent numerous emails to cancel my line and request a refund as I was not even with them for a month to be told their management would contact me back. This was on August 18th. I have sent 4 follow-up emails and still to this day have not received any communication. When you call them they talk over you the whole time and do not give you as THE CLIENT a chance to talk. THIS IS HONESTLY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED!
I DO NOT recommend purchasing anything from them! I placed an online order on the 2nd of August. Since then there has not been any communication made from their end to keep me updated on my status order neither do they respond to emails which is sent to their email address and everytime you call they say they will call you back, and with no surprise, this also doesn't happen. They also promised for my order to be delivered on the 13th of August which it wasn't and having to call them AGAIN it has come to light that they cannot get in touch with their supplier to confirm when my order will be delivered. Spare yourselves the trouble and admin and rather buy from a different store.
