Kelsey September was very professional and advised me of all the nitty gritty of the process to keep me at ease and not guessing of when and how I would get response from them going forth.
This company takes people for a ride, from writing reviews here, you will only get one of the agents calling you to hear the story then they will tell you they have escalated your matter to management and you will never hear from them again. To giving me a car that is not road worthy that had to seat with mechanics for two full months and I’m a female always driving with my minor kids and getting stuck on the roads of this country as a woman with kids is just not safe at all. To them charging your the monthly fees of R9500 even when the car has been returned. Just a friendly advise, this company does not know the meaning of customer service and I’m seeing my lawyer tomorrow to open up a case against them. This is the letter I just emailed them and not holding my breath for them to resolve this anytime soon because I’ve had bad service since day one with them no joke. Honestly you guys are a pain in a butt. I have no letter in my inbox, and the last time I heard from one of your employees was when I was told my issue has been escalated to management, the same man agent that failed to take decisions about your road unworthy car in the past. 1. The agent who signed the contract with me advised in the presence of my brother who was there to make sure I don’t get taken for a ride, that if my financial situation changes in 6 months I am welcome to return the car that was on a “rent to buy” agreement which now I have done and all of a sudden there are clauses that you are claiming that are in the contract stipulating otherwise. 2. This so called car the broke down and was with the mechanic for 2 months of this six months has been return end of June but yet you had the audacity of deduction a full rental from my account this past month end for what exactly, I wouldn’t know. 3. The car in question was never a road worthy car and yet you gave it to me and it broke down while I was driving on the road with my two minor children, business or not you should have principles. Frankly you are a company that preys on women and make money in ***** deals that are not above board. I want my money and nothing to do with your company ever again. Very irate customer right now is muse and I need a response to this message within 24 hours because I am taking you to court believe or not.
I want to warn everyone about a company called Planet42. They are running a **** under the guise of a "rent to buy" scheme. They promise you can return the car in six months if your circumstances change, with no liability. However, when you try to return the car after six months, they suddenly bring up clauses in the contract that say you owe them for seven more months. Additionally, their cars are often not roadworthy, and they fail to keep their promises. Dealing with them has been an absolute nightmare. Please be cautious and do not fall for their tricks.
Planet42 will be the reason I have my blood levels high, since January when I took a car from them that was faulty and stayed with the mechanics for two months. In those two months I battled to receive help with calls I made and emails sent to which I was told management is dealing with it. Eventually after two months the car was fixed and repairs paid for but for some odd reason I’m in arrears for those two months the car was with the mechanic. Can someone explain to me once again what is “RENT TO BUY” if I’m liable for rent for a car I didn’t have for the time in question? Yooo Planet42 headache
I'm deeply dismayed by the ********* business practices employed by Wakefield Property Management. Despite providing a month's notice in February to vacate the flat by the end of March, I was shocked to receive only R2100 out of the R6800 refund I was owed. Upon questioning this discrepancy, I was informed that the deduction was attributed to utilities, despite having prepaid for all such expenses. Furthermore, I was blindsided by the claim that R4700 was withheld due to moving out before the contract's end. The lack of transparency in their calculations is unacceptable, and I demand a thorough breakdown of these charges. Such deceptive tactics not only erode trust but also demonstrate a blatant disregard for customer rights and fairness.
naming and shaming companies that rip people off is not enough we need active consumer watchdogs because companies like Wakefield property management keeps ripping people off. I rented a place from them and paid R6800 deposit and upon moving out last month they paid me back R2100 back as my deposit and upon inquiring I was told R4700 was a charge for my early moving out how do they even calculate this ridiculous amount when we gave them over 30 days notice of moving. All utilities were prepaid, property we found dirty we left it clean and everything in order. Wakefield property management company is a ***** that rips people off their hard earned money. Now for me to get this money I have to pay a lawyer to fight a simple black and white daylight *******. This company is ridiculous
I bought a car from planet42 on rent to buy, picked it up on the 13th of January, and as I was leaving premises it got stuck, they jump started it and told me it’s because they stay there in the parking for a longtime it was the battery on the 15thJanuary (within 48 hours) it had an “engine failure “ message on the screen and died while I was driving. Was towed away to the mechanic. I haven’t been with a car for the whole month but planet42 deducted the premium of R9400.00 monthend of January 2024. Upon inquiring that week of the 17th of January when I was without the car and was told it has gone for repairs and insurance with pay for repairs, I was told the premium will be refunded. On the 31st January the money was deducted and mind you I was without a car for a month. When I called in on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of February for a refund of that premium I’m being given a run around and told management is still discussing my matter everytime I call that’s what I’m told. It’s the 11th of February 2024 almost a full month without a car and charged for not having a car and being given a run around. I also had a problem trusting the car is road worthy which obviously is not. I am being taken for a ride by this company because I am a woman
Oh my word, don’t even know where to start, I had a last minute trip I had to take from Durban to Joburg, flights are so expensive so I decide to book a bus ticket and I got Eldo Coaches for 21:10 departure time from Durban at beach front. The bus gets there at 21:30 to pick us up only to drop us at Durban Station and mind you there was a lot of people because even the 21:20 bus didn’t show up. When we get dropped at Durban Station there’s masses of people who have been waiting for their buses that were supposed to depart at 20:00 but didn’t show up. Mind you I had a two year old and a ten year old with me, there were other parents with infants there. Staff didn’t know what was happening and blamed it on the management, the ladies at the station were trying their best but it was in vain because it was 21:30 still no buses to be seen and people were starting to loose their cool. I thought they would attack the lady at the counter everyone was irate. Eventually at 21:45 buses start pulling over there must have been 4 and the stamping people wanting to push and get on the buses, I wasn’t going to risk my kids life like that because at beach front I already had an incident of a lady who was pushing my two year old to get on the bus that took us to Durban Station and mind you there’s a reason why we booked departure at beach front because we didn’t want to be at Durban Station where we ended up stranded. During that stamped I went to the counter and asked the lady since the contract I had with them was breached how do I apply for my refund because I don’t want to travel on their bus? She told me the company doesn’t give refunds I must go try get on one of the buses outside and upon explaining to her what was happening outside and that my ticket was to depart from beach front and it where I was standing and I’m not keen on traveling anymore because the contract I entered into with them was breached already. She then told me to call the call center which I did and the gentleman who answered the phone asked me why this lady is saying I must call them because they know they have to sort the problem themselves and I said I’m not interested in traveling anymore and need my refund he then put me on hold. Then another lady who I had spoken to when we were being transported from beach front to Durban Station, the one who had advised they also in the dark as staff only management knows what’s really happening, she appeared while I was at the counter holding for the gentleman who had put me on hold and she said to me “come let me help you to a bus we have organized” she took my bags and me and my kids followed her to outside in the dark street opposite the Durban Station there was a bus there with people that was short 5 people not even an eldo coach bus and this was now 23:10 and we got in and the bus departed at 23:20 for people who were supposed to have departed at 21:10 with no clear explanation of what was happening. Never again actually this Eldo coach needs to have its license revoked.
Hi, so so disappointed with Old Mutual. Really never ever thought I would ever be taken for a ride by a company like this. Will wait for them for a year or more for them to finish playing tactics then pay me my Provident Fund. Remind me not to EVER get involved with anything that has to do with OLD MUTUAL ever again.
Old Mutual Superfund is the subsidiary of old mutual that deals with Companies Provident fund. You see if I knew when I started working for the hotel group that I worked for that my Provident Fund was being invested with Old Mutual, I would have objected. I have been retrenched more than 3 months back officially on paper of which the company hadn't been paying anything towards my provident fund for over a year since Covid started March 2020 but to this day I am still waiting to be paid my provident fund. The consultant I am dealing with, I don't even want to start with her. She is not professional at all and always pacifying me with statement like "I'm still waiting for this, still waiting for that" to that I got her all the information she was waiting for from the company lawyers and Pension fund association. Doing her job for her. Clearly she is working from home and has all the time for coffee than doing her job. Provident fund once you don't work for the company needs to be paid with 2 months and I'm going for more than 4th month with no clear direction on when my money will be paid. You would swear I was asking old mutual for a loan. Atleast if I were maybe they would have given me a clear answer within a month. For future reference stay away from Old Mutual including it's subsidiaries like momentum.
