Wimpy Boardwalk Mall Richards Bay - Worst breakfast experience ever!! On arrival at Boardwalk Mall, we realised that we were craving a reminiscent breakfast from Wimpy which is normally great. We walked to the opposite side of the mall and found Wimpy being new to the area, on walking into the entrance we were welcomed with rolled eyes like oh god here we go being the only white people to walk into the otherwise not very busy Wimpy which we should have noticed was unusual for a Wimpy. We were at least greeted with a Hello thereafter the eye roll and received our menus. We ordered a milkshake each which weren't as thick as the typical "Wimpy Shake" and the early bird breakfast which is literally 2 eggs, bacon and toast and a slice of severely undercooked and unseasoned tomato, with a side of the wimpy relish which was served cold. This I would imagine taking 5 - 10 mins with a full kitchen staff to make considering a breakfast competitor can make luxury cappuccinos and significantly more complicated breakfast in a fully booked restaurant service in under 10mins. Well, we waited 40 minutes for our food and milkshakes, my tummy was literally grumbling waiting for my food or even my milkshake to start, our waitress noticing our hunger and advising its coming soon about 3 items. The restaurant was not busy and nor was the kitchen which was open to view. Not sure what they do to their staff there but not one staff or person looked happy to be there, If I hadn't ordered as yet I honestly would have left. Being decent people we have the waitress R50 tip with a bill of about +-290. She noticed that our experience was extremely poor and was shocked when she saw her tip "Wow, so much she said" so clearly either caught them on a bad day or just in general miserable staff. Not somewhere I would waste my money again. Through this experience there was a drunken fool who decided to come for breakfast, who knocked his chair over, which had a bottle of brandy in it which went flying all over the floor - He stood there, looked at it and proceeded to sit in the opposite chair waiting for a female staff member to clean it up clearly which made the end of our experience awful with the stench of booze running toward our table and no one was really quick to attend to the issue either, glass could have flown into someone's leg and I cannot imagine much would have been done. My husband proceeded to walk up to the table and ask him what he intends doing about it, with no response and a dirty look received he picked up the chair off the floor and put it back in place for the staff to at least be able to clean it up. What kind of creature does this. Recommend a more attentive branch manager to maybe inspire and uplift staff and be aware of what is happening on the floor.
My husband and I were recommended to go to Dros Richards Bay for their great food and views for our 5th Year Wedding Anniversary. Generally, I have extremely high expectations for food and service delivery and would give it a 4 / 10. The restaurant was not busy at all and was quite gloomy and dark on the veranda , a restaurant on the water should at least have heaters and an ambient lighting to create a warm environment in my opinion and also ro railing to avoid children gaining access to the water line itself - As the place next door was busting with good laughs and vibrant music, Dros also overlooking the gorgeous outdoor scenery of a place called Zula Beach across the bay which looks to exude modern atmosphere and vibes. The food: We ordered our drinks which came quite quickly by our very smiley waitress. Further we ordered some starters and knew what we wanted for mains so ordered everything together but asked for it not to be rushed. We ordered the cheesy garlic snails to start, which is generally accompanied with crusty ciabatta bread (From every experience I have received elsewhere) only to be provided with dry brown bread which 1 slice had been DE crusted and cut into 3's - I mean really.... Ate the snails without it which were very average in flavour and quite chewy, not shy with the cheese though. As soon as we were finished, we were asked if we wanted our mains which came out immediately so had obviously been cooked at the same time as our starter as the food wasn't as fresh and tasty as I would have expected from a "Steakhouse" We ordered 1 x Steak & Prawn Combo & 1 x Rib & Prawn Combo - the ribs were nicer in flavour than the steak itself which was very juicy (as one would expect ordering medium rare) but not very flavourful at all like to prawns which were slightly overcooked but lacked freshness flavour and taste overall. Clearly frozen produce as opposed to fresh sourcing of stock. We opted to skip dessert to avoid disappointment. A nice walk out to the pier was enjoyed which is right next to the restaurant. Service: 7/10 Food 4/10 Ambience Vibe: 3-/10
Went instore to purchase a new Washing Machine from Game in Richards Bay Boardwalk Mall. They offered me a special on a floor model which was in brilliant condition. Purchase was made before 12PM in the store itself. We were informed that delivery would only be from Monday at best. On Sunday afternoon at 14:59 I received a SMS stating that the driver was already en-route to deliver my product. The driver called to advise of his arrival and was happy and willing to assist in bringing it into the house securely. Friendly service received.
🌟 Outstanding Service and Communication with Gijima Deliveries! 🌟 I recently reached out to Gijima Deliveries for a quote to help my mother relocate some bulky items from ***ies Hill in Durban to Richards Bay. Within just 24 hours, I received a detailed and friendly response from Luyanda, the Distribution Planner. Luyanda’s communication was exceptional, providing all the necessary information and keeping me informed throughout the entire process. The cost of moving 45/50kgs of products was surprisingly affordable, under R1000, making the whole experience even better. My mother being an elderly lady was assisted immensely with the arrival and send off experience. I highly recommend Gijima Deliveries for their reliable and safe transportation services. They truly go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction! 🚚✨
Terrible line quality - Advised in the area that they do not have fibre to enable a stronger internet / telephone line. This is 2024 any telephonic/mobile company should have these things in place when companies are trying to run businesses with successfull comminucations that are not cut or cannot even call out due to "global error" notifications.
