As I am not getting a response now for almost a month and have since been blocked on all communications from the General Manager, I am hoping a resolution can come from this review. I worked for Midlands Saddle & Trout for the 2024 financial year and my employment came to an end in October of 2023. Each months PAYE was deducted from my salary and NOT submitted to SARS on the 7th of each month as lawfully required. SARS has now put me under investigation for lack of relevant documentation due to my latest return being at a zero submission, should I now go and submit the information based on my bank statements I will be liable to pay SARS despite the monies already being deducted from my salary by First Group. I am of the opinion that I am not the only ex-employee to be having such issues and it begs the question, where are these funds? Legally no company can hold these funds to draw interest, the EMP201 needs to be submitted monthly with payment by the 7th of each month, yet 1 year and 1 month since the beginning of 2024 tax year, not a single submission has been done. Upon leaving my employment there was an egregious error on my payout and the tax deduction thereon, after a back-and-forth battle between myself and the Deputy and Regional Manager, things were straightened out and correct payment were made. Since then, 2024 financial year end has rolled around and yet again another error has been made, this time I receive no feedback what so ever. Only once we advised the General Manager that we would be taking this further did he say he would send the documents on Monday the 8th of April before blocking that channel of communication, despite numerous follow ups on email for feedback for almost a month. In my opinion the fact that there is no communication and channels have been blocked shows me this is an admission of incompetence on their end, which is odd due to First Group claiming to be such a big corporate company.
Poor service! First of all to get our line set up after a move was such a mission, took around 8 weeks to move our line which meant in the meantime we were buying SO MUCH data, 4 times as much as our line rental would have been. Blaming the installation company rather than actually elevating our account for installation. Moving on from that, it is now time to pay for my monthly subscription... CANNOT action payment on their link, subscription now suspended... NOONE ANSWERS!!!! The whatsapp number, I'm waiting in line, call their landlines, waiting which a recorded recommendation to contact their whatsapp boasting quick turn around time. It is now 11.35, I've been on their whatsapp line since 9.03am waiting to try get a payment done... now my lively hood waits because I wait a day with zero working capabilities. Honestly, if I knew this I would have gone with someone else.
A follow up regarding my retrenchment claim that they didnt process and now I'm sitting destitute. We went into the branch to try speak to a consultant... at the door I was told to call the 0091 number which I had explained didn't work. I was send to FNBs in-house phone and put to another agent who said she will request a follow up as she sees it hasn't been attended to. She said she couldn't tell me if it would take days or weeks or months.... really? I must sit in the meantime and feed my family, how exactly? Will definitely be changing banks.
Put a claim in when being retrenched, they acknowledged receipt of my paperwork and that it would take 2 - 3 business days to process... a week later they still went and deducted the repayment of my loan despite taking ALL THE MONEY I HAD LEFT! I am now trying to have the funds reversed buy their number ending 0091 cuts off before reaching an agent and the online bankers put me in queues... I have waited up to 7 hours before giving up. I'm desperately trying to survive but these cold distant greedy institutions just want their money and don't care that I'm struggling to feed my family now because they took R5000 out my account despite full transparency regarding my situation and followed all their systems. Been with FNB for 10 years, unbelievable. Time to change.
