Active since Dec 2021
I've been ****MED by Virgin Active on 05 August 2023, and paid a joining fee of R199 but I cancelled on 07 August 2023. On the SECOND DAY of their 5 DAY COOLING OFF PERIOD. And after their agent confirmed that my membership was cancelled and that I would be refunded in full due to cancelling with their cooling off period. No refund was paid, and on the 3rd day I went to the Sunningdale branch and a sales manager check and confirmed once more that my membership was cancelled and that I was going to be refunded in full. No refund was done, On Saturday 12/08/2023 I called them again and spoke to Shameer Isaacs their "Retention Consultant", who a two days later sent me the following email "Good Day Mr LAWANA I trust your well. I did a follow up with the refunds department and they have confirmed that an activation fee is a once off non refundable fee. You are most welcome to take this up with the club as well. Kind regards Shameer Isaacs Retention Consultant T +27 (0)86 066 8372 W virginactive.co.za" I could not believe my eyes. In the contract terms and conditions section 2, that they sent me when I joined it says "The activation or joining fee is non-refundable, except where you have exercised your right to cancel the Contract during the cooling-off period under paragraph 4." Which is what I did. Paragraph 4 refers "What if I change my mind and want to cancel my membership? You can write and tell us that you want to cancel your membership within 5 business days of signing this Contract, excluding the day of signature. Provided your cancellation letter is received by your Home Club within the 5 day cooling-off period, we will refund all payments made by you on return of any promotional item(s) we may have given you on joining." By the way, there is no such email referred to here, in their website nor in the contract. Only Virgin Active knows. Anyway I managef to cancel the contract, Tgey ****MED out of R199, Its little but a **** is still a ****. to those that are thinking of joining Virgin Active, know If they can **** me of R199, they can **** you of way more.
They are bros for real. Arrived on time showed a great sense of urgency even made up for the shartfalls of their insurance. Great customer service. Went the extra mile and dropped my brother off at his home for free in Parklands even though their insurance declined paying for that
My mother is stuck in the middle of no where as I write this review, I called outsurance and went through to the road assist department, they said they're sending someone through but no one came, When I tried to call again I spoke to Johan at 18:43 (18/04/2022). Who just dropped the line. I called again and another person dropped the line as I was talking to her. NOW REMEMBER THIS IS AN EMERGENCY, and Outsurance is now where to be found. I (in Cape Town) had to have a relative in the Eastern Cape go and buy petrol and rush to her assistance. OUTSURANCE IS FULL OF FAKE PROMISES. Exposing my mother ( 70 years old, to danger while she thought she could depend on them.
The cashier Amanda in that store is the worst I have ever come across, bad attitude, ignorantly defensive and when confronted, lies on the spot. After receiving the horrific service experience from her, the Manager Andre gave sorted the problem swiftly and without arguing, he was ampethetic and kind, even reimbursed me for the item I had bought. Thank u Andre.
I ordered 21 piece bucket at 19:58, the time now as I write this review is 22:09. And I am told my order will be ready in 10 minutes, the Manager is no where to be found.
