I've been a loyal customer to Vodacom since the 90s and for the most part they have delivered good services. Unfortunately, the past few years have not been so good, mainly due to the customer services interface. Previously getting a phone upgraded took around 3-5 days in total, no fuss - good communication, and prompt delivery. My experience this year however has just been atrocious - I've been struggling to get an upgrade done since the 24th of October, that's nearly two weeks :-( Trying to get this resolved through the customer channels has been challenging to say the least - the agents simply don't follow up/through on the specifics. Keep in mind - I'm trying to purchase a phone here, this is sales.... I have 4 phones & two tablets all with data plans - spending around R8K every month - and have been loyal to Vodacom, mainly because their service has been good - but as I said, not so much lately. At this point I am considering going over to MTN - not because they are better (don't know really) but as a way of pushing back. There is no real interface for the customer to complain & discuss with Vodacom about concerns. Today I asked to speak to a manager to escalate the fact that I've not been successful in getting an upgrade done - and was told that there was no option to do this? To this end the only option then is to vote with the wallet. The purpose of this complaint on Hellopeter? My hope is that someone in this organisation actually remembers why the customer is important....and gives them a call!
As per my previous review of Dec 14 - received the PC on time with no issues. Very happy with my purchase. Thanks to the engineer who built the system (Gerhard) the aesthetics is top shelf. These guys rock! If you want to go custom, this is the place to get it done :-)
Ordered a high end gaming pc - so far so good. Excellent service from Vernon, very helpful in specifying the build, provided great guidance & has been keeping me up to date. They have a lovely shop with secure premises - will be visiting them often in future for my upgrades and other pc related purchases. Once I have the pc and had a chance to use it I will update here on the rest of the experience :-)
Poor after sales service - 2 years subsequent to an external painting job on my home & perimeter walls the paint started to flake & bubble in numerous places. Over a period of time I managed to get Wondercoat to visit and review so as to attend to repairs under the 10 year warranty. After much discussion and promises to do repairs according to warranty allowances all they wanted was to quote on a new paint job...be careful when dealing with this company, they have a broad range of warranties that don't seem to count for anything. So very disappointed especially as the salesman who setup our job pushed the warranty so hard, which ultimately won me over to go with Wondercoat, but in the end has not been honored or upheld in any way. I have waited several months now for a response from them to resolve this which has now led me to performing paint repairs at my own cost - which I then intend to claim from Wondercoat via the legal system. Anyone interested in the paperwork, photos or even a site visit is welcome to contact me on heiny.peck@hotmail.com.
Pathetic service lately - put in for an upgrade and have been following up since yesterday to just get confirmation of the order. (Samsung Z Fold 4) In total I spoke to 7 people, being passed from pillar to post - but still no confirmation. I've been with Vodacom since the early 00's and have never experienced such poor service. Previously I got confirmation by latest the next morning. I'm now told it may take up to 72 hours...wow. I have two other contracts for upgrading - not so sure if Vodacom wants to do business? My take is that they have "overengineered" their internal & customer processes to such a degree that their focus is not on the customer anymore... Come on Vodacom - you still have a chance to service the customer, just focus on the right things. Failing that you will be losing contracts quicker than you can count them.
I get a daily call from MDB regarding an account I do not have with this company. I have tried to get into contact with them and have spent several hours now trying to do just that but without any success - their contact number goes into a queue and then disconnects once it’s my turn to speak to an agent - so frustrating - what a ridiculous organisation!
