We ordered a platter for 2 on the 14th February at Glen Garry Ocean Basket . Which is valentine's day. When our order came. It was with angel fish. We questioned it and The waiter said that it was wrong. He took the whole platter back for them to add the right fish for the platter. This took a while. Then when I tasted my calamari and squid heads. It was dry and very chewy. I was very disappointed 😥 They warmed up the platter and added the fish. I mentioned it to the waiter and manager. But both just looked at me. Did not take it back to replace with fresh calamari and squid heads. So I did not want to make a screen. And took the food home with me. The next day I decided that I paid for my platter. I deserve good food. So I went back and asked the manager about that. He then said that he did ask me what he can do about it. Which was not true. Then he took the parcel and said that he will replace only what is in the box. With an attitude. As if I have asked for more? Which I did not. I went home with the food. And decided not to ever go back to them.
Myself and my husband were at the Mariners Wharf restaurant for our 48th wedding anniversary on the 4th of February. We drove all the way from Bellair to Houtbaai. We ordered a platter for 2. It looked devine and was very tasty. We sipped on a glass of savanna light. While listening to the sea in the back ground. And a light wind, Seabreeze blowing over us. Had a lovely warm flavourful cuppacino in the lounge which has furniture like a boat. It is as if we were on a romantic cruise. The afternoon at the Wharfside restaurant was a day to remember.
